We don't need another Cavani type, I think is the point really. It's not like Ronaldo is going to push Matic or Fred out of the lineup. I worry for the likes of Greenwood, Rashford and even Sancho with this. It's more short termism.

Ole loves drip feeding a new player into the team so we'll see him some time mid-November no doubt.

I know he's not what we need but who cares, it's Ronaldo!
At least he's mentality will give some players a kick up the arse.

I can't fathom why City wanted Ronaldo. Doesn't fit their style at all which relies on pressing from the front.
Even weirder is the fact that Madrid seemingly have a free run at Mbappe. In all of football there are only two megastars who are actually young enough to get your money's worth from a 100m plus transfer fee and one of them is Mbappe. Why aren't City or even Chelsea or any club with that kind of cash to spend over the next few seasons rivaling them.

Because everything indicates he only wants to join Real.

The sensible thing would’ve been putting it towards a DM like Rice I guess, but at least the Glazers opened the checkbook in any case. Some good signs of progress since the protests in May. OT refurbs, rail seating installed, share buybacks actually looking a possibility and £3 pints.

Its ok guys, looks like all the noisy City fans on social media never wanted him anyway because he’s shite and they don’t need him and never made an offer, don’t know what you’re talking about

Can't believe it! Like I said before hopefully we can start rolling over the low tier premiership teams now with pure star power and quality. Ole hasn't got a clue about anything other than transfers. Its worked for Madrid in the past :-)

You would hope if nothing else it will give the players an immediate boost. If we come out against Wolves pondering around at 5mph before falling behind just before half time I think I might have a little cry.

The best stat I’ve seen so far today:
In the 12 years between Cristiano Ronaldo's first and second spells at Old Trafford, he scored 392 league goals and Manchester United's various wearers of No. 7 got 24.

Yeah I´m a bit dumbfounded by the speed of this, not really sunk in yet but it is a bit special.
Just another reminder how much of a cunt Jose was too.

I'm not a Jose fan at all but that seems the most random time to dig at him.

Not really, Ronaldo would never of gone to Juve if Jose didn´t veto his signing, seemed to me that that was the end of his good relationship with the board or at least with Woodward. Things noticeably went downhill after that window, Woodward was practically brought in for that specific job and Jose shafted him, it is certainly around the time the normal toxicity surrounding a moo show kicked in too.
Also I think the odd random reminder every now and then is a good thing.

I’m absolutely here for Pep and City getting treated like the nothing club with deep pocket bullies they are. Pep is going to meltdown this season and fuck off in the summer. Glorious.
As for United, I’m happy for the fans. Nothing like a hero coming back. It won’t be the same and might well be a huge disappointment (it usually is) but who cares. It always feels special.
Some very very big personalities and high expectations for little Ole to handle now. Going to be interesting.

You've got to laugh that all they've ended up with is a player even deemed a luxury one at International level.

It's certainly good news for the profile of the Prem. Not that it needed help mind you. I'm still slightly suspicious about the claims that City really aren't going to go back in for Kane. Their hand has been weakened by the fact that Kane caved and returned to work, so maybe it is really dead, in which case why haven't they gone for whatever backup option they had in mind (surely that backup wasn't Ronaldo, he and Kane are very different).
Anyway suddenly it's the Utd half of the city that are playing Championship manager. Suspect both will be watching Chelsea dominate this year but it's made it more interesting.

City had all their press and media ready for the Kane launch. They 100% thought they were getting him.

I think they genuinely thought the gentleman's agreement nonsense was going to make it plain sailing for them and everything we've seen from them since has been desperate flailing to try and make the window appear a success. It's been great watching Levy make them look like utter tools by doing absolutely fuck all.

They didn’t want to talk, so we didn’t talk. We tried to open the door but the big master of negotiations, Daniel Levy, who knows everything, wouldn’t. Maybe I would do the same if I had Harry Kane." What a child.

Best of all Grealish is going to ‘flop’, not because he isn’t good, but because he’s just not the type of player people think he is and was ludicrously overvalued because of it. His main attribute is drawing fouls. His G/A stats are poor for his position. £100m was an absolutely ridiculous fee for him and Villa know it.
