I don’t think Clem is hugely wrong there although position 2 would be up for debate. There’s a huge international fan base for Manchester United and it’s a giant as a commercial enterprise and brand. On those sorts of metrics definitely in the top ten and I’d say almost certainly top 5. If he had said the richest I wouldn't have argued. But there's no way in hell MU are in the same stratosphere (status wise) as Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern and Liverpool.

Well, I'm glad Sa didn't have 'mares like this when he was playing over here... Not that the defence did much better

Don’t you know how many Instagram followers we have?
In all seriousness, United not in the same stratosphere status wise as AC Milan or Bayern is hilarious.
Like if you had said best teams over the last decade or something sure. But by most measurements of status I could think of, crowd sizes, global interest, ability to pay the highest wages etc, they’re most definitely ‘in the same stratosphere.
Just lovely that from Palmer. How deft a touch does that need on the bounce. Beautiful.

Really lovely assist there for the Wolves equalizer. Wolves poached Man City’s set piece coach in the close season.

Napoli agree to pay £30m for McTominay. Curious how that will pan out for us because we can't be dependent on Mainoo and Casemiro all season.

That has put me off Madueke a bit. Aside from just being unpleasant and childish, why give Wolves any more incentive before the game? The atmosphere will be more hostile now and it doesn't help Chelsa. It's fairly pathetic and he's 22 now, so not exactly a kid anymore. Does suggest that he's fundamentally not serious about his profession. With this performance I've got over my 3hr Madueke wobble. If you do chat shit you have to back it up and he's done just that.

I always think Bayern’s position is a weird one because they have one of the largest commercial revenues in world football but you never think of then as having a global fanbase like Madrid, United or Barca do. Although, its probably true in United’s case that they’d have been better at football over the last decade if they didn’t have such a well entrenched and enormous global commercial presence. Like, if the vampires who own them wanted to make the club into their personal piggybank they’d have had to actually try and earn some footballing success to maintain it.

A goal and 3 assists for Palmer. Real shame we didn’t see more of him in the euros.

Straight red if someone like Romero did that.

Newcastle have absolutely rode their luck so far this season. Southampton were bossing the game even before the sending off last week and we’ve totally robbed Bournemouth this afternoon.

Funny how often marginal VAR decisions seem to break Newcastle's and City's way.

Are PGMOL officials still allowed to referee games in the middle east to boost their income?

This Chelsea win is very reminiscent of 2018 when we beat Fulham 5-1 under Emery. I suspect it's an anomaly rather than a step forward.
I know many don't like xG, but I do because it tells you if you're creating more good chances than you give up. i.e. are you a good team who dominated the game, or did you just get a bit lucky?
xG in brackets Wolves (2.11) 2-6 (1.65) Chelsea Fulham (1.32) 1-5 (1.12) Arsenal
