They've obviously been told to tone down the VAR intervention and so for a couple of weeks they'll swing wildly to the extreme of not using when it really should be used and then, just like all their initiatives (remember the one where even tapping a ball away would be a yellow? Or surrounding the ref?) they'll revert to their default state of incompetence. That moment will also coincide with Gabriel choke-slamming Rodri and being sent off and banned for a year. This is immediately not true though as they overturned the Everton penalty. It's certainly not a case of clear and obvious so even in the weekend where they're least likely to look inconsistent, they've still managed it. If the ref called that as a penalty I honestly don't see how on earth they justified overruling his call based on what happened. I wouldn't have been upset had the ref not given it but once he had and you can see there is contact I don't understand why or how a review was triggered.

Dunk isn't putting a tackle in - he's blocking - and his foot is going away from the player, until DCL steps on Dunks foot.

VAR determined that a "clear and obvious error" (which seems a bit of a stretch, reflected by the mixed opinion in the media and online), so let's continue to walk through the VAR process, and watch the referee using the pitch side monitor (and in this case, the back-up pitch side monitor) to help him arrive at his final decision... 🤔

Insane.
Felix was mediocre when he came here a few years back. And now we've locked him in with a six year contract.
Has anyone here ever switched which club they support?

Good half. Looking really sharp. Hope we don’t regret not taking some of those chances

We’ve lost all our momentum now and look really nervy.
It’s worrying how fragile our confidence is.

Just take a shot when in the area instead of trying to pass it in.

Should have been out of sight before half time. Not ruthless enough in front of goal. Johnson and Sarr not great today and Udogie looking every bit like he has had little to no pre-season.

I very much liked the first half. I disliked the second half. Last season in microcosm.

I only seen the second half, and Spurs were really poor in it. Son non existent. Even when he got the ball his touch was uncharacteristically terrible.
Leicester looked decent second half.

Spurs thought they could stroll around and win it. Idiots It really is like watching Arsenal trying to pass it in several years ago. Incredibly frustrating.

Still processing what I saw last night.
We have such a soft underbelly. We were dominate without finishing in the first half and then shellshocked for much of the second half. How is it that easy for our heads to drop (to a man!) I really do wish Ange's vision had some caveats that say 'have a dig from outside the box every now and then'.
Midfield could have done with replacing about 10 minutes earlier than we did. They looked knackered (Madders especially). Possibly mental as well as physical, but the first touch that was so tight in the first half was wild after 60 mins.
To look for some positives, I thought Solanke looked decent with good movement and a willingness to press constantly. The new lads looked assured, but physically I think they're going to find it tough in the prem.
Finally, what about poor old Bentancur. He does not have luck on his side does he.

Kind of missed Vardy's banter towards fans. Can't argue with him.. he won a title.

Looks like Ramsdale could be off to Wolves on loan, with an option to buy

It was very disappointing to see last years issues still so glaringly in place. But it’s the first game of the season with new players still bedding in. I think the goals will come, but what concerns me more is how open we are. Not sure I really see a solution for that in the way Ange plays.
