Isn’t it a case of there’s nothing stopping the contract being what they want, it’s just they can only amortise the transfer fee over 5 years - which presumably still applies?

Yeah sorry, my question is why would you do this, rather than is it allowed.
Think that's right and that for PSR amortisation 5yrs is max. But if you aren't getting an accounting benefit why tie yourself to a relatively unproven player for 8 years? Doesn't make sense to me. Feels like there must still be an accounting trick I'm not seeing.
Very sceptical about there being genuine football reasons for 8 year deals.

There is almost certainly an accounting trick we're not seeing. Or they are at the very least kicking the can down the road hoping it won't be relevant in a few years.

Annoyingly, they're being clever rather than rule-breaking, aren't they?

Sancho back with the first team at United. Wonder what's happened there.

Sancho back with the first team at United. Wonder what's happened there. That genuinely caught me by surprise. Apparently ETH and Sancho had positive talks and agreed to a draw a line under it. I just hope he's not a disruptive twat. We have potential genuine world class kids in our team, don't need a twat stinking up the place and setting a bad example.

Figures it would happen as Dortmund announced a new no 10 yesterday. All that talk "We always knew he was special". Aye sure, not special enough to want to keep him I guess

They managed to find it for Dembele and they just got to a CL final, if they wanted him they would have got him.

We've spent so much on him that we have to give him one more shot if he's willing really. There's someone there who could genuinely feel like a new signing if the attitude is right and it works out.

You’ve got to hope being exiled from the team he loved and then crucially, the England squad, has given his ego the kick in the c*nt it needed.
Who among us though can’t say we were twatty at 24 and wouldn’t be twattier still given the budget to buy a house a week.

Villa paying £50m for Onana would be a decent return for Everton, and put end to any hopes United have of getting Branthwaite on their terms.

He just isn't worth the money Everton are asking. It looks like we aren't pursuing him any more as they just got Evans signed for another year and De Ligt seems to be almost done. Still interested in Yoro but it looks like he is probably Madrid bound.

Fair play to Everton if they can get £50m for Onana.
I was onboard with the idea of Arsenal buying him as a squad option to move on from Elneny and Partey but not at that price. If he can get better on the ball then maybe it'll start to look like value.

Ah well back to Arsenal. Have we signed Higuain yet? According to PES4, you are finally signing Hatem Trabelsi....

Still weird we signed PES legend Park Chu-young. If you signed him on PES5 he could score from nearly everywhere. Shame he couldn't do that in real life.

I loved PES in this time. Fully Editing Options Files, great games to play against someone and then the Master League was just so good once you got your head around Transfers etc.
When I play Footy Manager now, I set up the Attribute Colours to match PES, it just makes sense.
