Guess Everton will be state owned soon, but by who?
North Korea?

Ugh, as much as we appear to copying the owner affiliated sponsorship model of cheating I did think Newcastle were broadly trying to keep their heads beneath the parapet on these issues.
That said, if anyone wants a Saudi backed NFT of Jacob Murphy for ยฃ50m we could do with another striker to go alongside our two 20 game a season glass forwards.

The premier league doesn't need Manchester City, they should go hard on them and make an example of them. They have a massively inflated opinion of their value to the game. If they disappeared overnight most people wouldn't give a shit.

If they disappeared overnight most people wouldn't give a shit. That's true...but I also think what Ronay says is true. City and Abu Dhabi will drag it through the courts and riak bankrupting the league. Because they can. They wouldn't if they were a commercial enterprise because they couldn't afford it anymore than the PL and other members could.

Considering the UK Government know about what has happened and won't intervene tells you all you need to know. It's about keeping relations with Saudi very nice.. basically we've got a Russia 2.0 on our hands again.
I honestly don't see anything happening with Man City.

They wouldn't if they were a commercial enterprise because they couldn't afford it anymore than the PL and other members could. How does the finance aspect even work? I thought every PL member had equal shares of the PL? Therefore by definition the PL can't have shallower pockets than any one of it's members. I agree it'll come down to making an example of City or allow football to be irredeemably ruined as a fair contest. That's the position City have engineered. It's existential to the game so there's really no decision to be made. You'd think a massive vote winner for Labour if they take a strong regulatory stance but doesn't fit with their don't rock the boat campaign. The example of the UK government buying a Belgian club and then suing the Belgian FA really does demonstrate how absurd this is. Basic right and wrong stuff.

Not the first time Rodri's been brought in to shore up the Man City defence.

There is a ridiculous option available to the rest of the Premier league. Breakaway themselves. Let City, Chelsea and Everton play each other every week.

I don't know how the PL legal fees will be paid for tbh. Can't have City paying for their defence etc

Thanks, but what's the significance of that other than that he's a lawyer? (Never watched Rumpole.)

I think it's just a joke suggesting that Manchester City are nothing but lawyers. Some Welcome to Manchester signs have historically featured footballers on them.

The odd Everton fan account filters through on my Twitter for you section and some of the stuff they are coming out with is incredible. Siding with city and Newcastle to break the cartel basically. So blind.

Boo.
I find it a little funny that Wolves didnโt find any allies, despite numerous other teams bemoaning it and being at the wrong end of decisions.
Perhaps the assurances about changes to the process held sway.

Making it work is better than abandoning it, plus have open fucking procedures in what's going on, the Premier League have been atrocious when it comes to transparency and it's far too chummy too.

For a minute there I thought Robbie Williams might be representing Man City by letting him entertain us by claiming they are Angels until we Come Undone.
Unfortunately thatโs not the case.
