Woke up still thinking about this and did some research. Apparently he’d only been there 20 minutes, but it’s fairly well known in military circles and he probably locked his knees when he shouldn’t have. Poor guy, bet he feels sheepish now. |

Because of quantum physics you can either know how long the line is physically, or how much time it takes to move through, but not both.

Quantum physics aside, they said that it was moving at half a mile an hour and that it was between two and two and a half miles long, so (*sticks tongue out to do maths*) it'll take between 4 and 5 hours of queuing.

The live stream is slightly hypnotic, though. People watching, trying to work out who is there because they are a tourist, who just wants to say they have been on facebook and genuine forelock tuggers.
And, of course, the people like my wifes cousin who is going to get all of his medals for guarding the car park out of the wardrobe and turn up in full uniform.

We were going to finish watching the bake off last night and instead found ourselves glued to the live stream for a good 30 to 40 minutes just people watching. So yeah, very hypnotic. It's like sitting waiting at a train station / airport / whatever. There's something about just eyeballing other people doing something completely rote that's oddly calming.

I wouldn't even wait that long for Space Mountain let alone to shuffle passed a corpse. I was in Disneyland LA just 3 weeks ago. Longest wait I had was an hour for Star Tours and I was a bit disappointed after that wait (ride was great, it was just a bit short compared to the wait time). You don't even get the Rimmer Experience at the end of this queue; just a box that may or may not contain a corpse. |
