Not sure what the appetite for this will be! But let's see how it goes. Every week a new film will be submitted and the week is spent discussing it.
Could be a film you've never seen before, or one of your top 10s! Might be something you've never considered and it doesnt even have to be a "good"
Those that are interested make submissions direct to me and I will choose the film of the week (like some sort of film overlord) based of:
Either numerous requests or an interesting choice
Only stipulation being that its a film that isn't too hard to get hold of.
To start things off

That's why I went for a week, to restrictive otherwise. Gives everyone a chance to squeeze it into their busy lives.

Yeah a week is good. I know what I'm like but having a window like that means I'm more likely to watch it. I'll get the wife to watch it with me. Make us actually stop and sit down together.

We normally have one night where we will sit down for a film. So this makes the choice a bit easier lol

Didn't an attempt to do something similar run (and fail) on EG? The issues being some will watch it religiously, some won't want to, some won't have watched it in time etc etc.

Yeah during lockdown. I think that was a set time though.
It's only a bit of fun. No dramas if people don't do it every week etc. If it doesn't get any interest can sack it off

Yeah set time would never work.. we all too busy for that.
Thought be a good way of seeing some films that either been on the backlog for too long or a chance to make others aware of something that may have gone under the radar.

Maybe spoilers for any big reveals or plot points. It's all supposed to be pretty chill. Just watch the film if you can and we talk about it. Quite enjoyed the prey discussions because everyone was watching it at the same time, pretty much. So trying to engineer that. Plus I am terrible at deciding what to watch and I am sure there're lots of great films we've missed out on etc. So DM me for any suggestions for following weeks. |
