Took on The Butcher last night. Man, fuck that guy. Not the easiest fight in a tight dungeon corridor. Wait, what? I fucking knew he would be somewhere. Yeah he is located anywhere as a big random fuck you and your planned progress, get over 'ere! Eyes up wunty!

Isn't he only in dungeons? Met him once at like level 10 and got my arse absolutely handed to me.

Same, kicked my arse all over the screen. Got killed.
Think I'm about level 19 and got about 4 towns open now. Just keeps opening up

I'm deep into endgame now and everything is awesome apart from the GTA minimap and horse travel it's my only 'I fucking hate this' gripe which applies to all games that use this. It needs an on screen arrow or trail.
Will give the capstone a go for T4 later, I got to the end of it fairly easily at level 63 but the boss is level 70+ and just ripped me a new arsehole.

Just keeps opening up I'm level 30 and I think I've nearly been all over the first main area (a few unexplored smudges mind you) but I've barely touched the dungeons, there's loads of cellars, there's a ton of sides still to do, so this is still only really a fraction of the first act. I'ts just flipping huge.

Yeah I'm not entirely sure what to next! Guess I'll either stick to one of the main quests and do the optionals near and around it, or just go mad and explore the map

If there's a horse in the shop that doesn't whinge every 2 seconds I'll be sorely tempted.
Not entirely sure what to focus on at endgame yet. Might just get Level 3 renown everywhere and roll another character

I'm just getting all Lilith statues out of the way at the moment, which seems to be getting me close to level 3 renown in most places.
The renown system is a bit shit overall imo, especially if we have to grind it again for seasonal. Should really be increased by everything you do in that area, not a small handful of activities.
Definitely agreed on the horse and minimap complaints above. Minimap needs to be zoomed out a couple of times.

I can recommend pushing the campaign along and leaving a lot of side stuff for after if only to see the main cinematic. I think I finished the main campaign in the late 40s. Having all that extra side quest content along with the end game stuff that pops up is nice.

Enjoying but gripes are; Give me a gem tab or something, half my inven is full of these things, even with regular clearing out. Console UI, I knew it would happen but some things are really more annoying than they should be. I even had to look up on YT how to use specialisations with the sorc. WT2 is just kind of annoying, it's not a challenge, just slower and with hardly any benefit. It's basically 'hard' in D3, which everyone skipped for the same reasons. Build diversity: Even at Wt1 unless you have one of the 2 or 3 coherent builds per class you are not getting anywhere fast. Seems like Wt1 would be the place to mess around with any old grab bag of skills, but it isn't the case (IME). Towns: they are way too big, having things 30 seconds away it just bollocks and some sort of MMO thing I do not appreciate. Having smaller towns without a blacksmith or whatever is annoying as well. Getting weaker as you level, and item drops 10 levels below you doesn't feel good. It's kind of uncool when you are slowly smacking down a bunch of elites, a low level player can wander along and wipe them out instantly. Where my power fantasy at?

The scaling is literally my only gripe so far (pc so UI a non issue). It's only a small gripe because I'm loving it but a gripe all the same.
Scaling. I know why it's done but the side effect is that everything feels 'flat'. I'm not getting the same peaks and troughs from 3 where you get a really good loot drop and all of a sudden you're one punch man for a bit or you can whack up the difficulty tier. Why couldn't they have done the same here, have a bunch of tiers and then the last one be a scaling tier for endgame

Yeah, even a softer scaling would feel better - so for example enemies in low areas will never be more than 3 lvls below you or something, so you still feel a bit of power increase.

Yeah, I'm lv40 and I've got about 4 legendary items all upgraded and while I know that I'm on WT2 I'm surprised that there hasn't been a moment where I'm melting things by just looking at them, especially with the buffs the items have. Ahh well.

Glad it's not just me that's noticed that. I get new shiny things dropping, equip them and everything just feels the same.

I think I've found a few things out by mistake. For instance, as a rogue, I went for some melee skill but now I don't use it at all, so I refunded that and on a whim, went for another skill which was worse! So I stopped and read it all and upgraded this new skill and now I use it in a different part of my rotation and it's starting to click more. Still got a long way to go, but pissing about with skills has made a difference

Currently I have:
Invigorating Strike (basic melee attack)
Heartseeker (basic ranged attack) Shadow Step (agility)
Barrage (core attack) Dark Shroud (subterfuge) Rain of Arrows (ultimate)

Ah, now this is more like it. Let's have a look at yours then. Hm mine is quite different - Heartseeker upgraded to ricochet for ranged Twisting blades upgraded for melee (this is the one I had to piss about with to get right) Shadowstep upgraded so it stuns them for a few seconds after you teleport and backstab them Concealment to use as an escape and to make room And then stutter step as a passive that increases movement speed when you land a critical So my plan is normally Bow everything to death till they get close Bunch em up and use Twisting blades. This will take out most trash mobs Shadow Step a larger goon for large damage and a stun And then repeat to finish If things get too hairy, then I'll use concealment to relocate and then do everything again I got an item last night that gives me a rank in various skills so I put one of those on too. Some kind of shield but I keep forgetting to cast it. I'm not too precious about that, I'm just experimenting with the free skills for a bit

I've been thinking about swapping out Dark shroud actually so Concealment might be the way to go. Dark shroud is actually quite shit. The cool down is so long and enemies get in your face so quickly that it's depleted almost as soon as you activate it. Concealment will mean I can get out of tight scrapes easier.

Yeah that's why I took it as its 100% reliable to escape as you're in an "unstoppable" status and can move freely, fast. It's been very useful so far

Smashing things as a giant werebear just doesn’t get boring. Combat just feels so visceral.
Also, really like how some of the side quests chain off each other. Did one in one town, and another pops up in a town I thought I’d cleared relating to the same character.
Bloody good fun. Although not certain on how some of the mechanics work with things like Fortify and Overpower etc.

Broadly speaking, what’s better pre-paragon? Salvaging Legendaries for materials or extracting aspects? I’m thinking mats unless the aspect is something that fits right in. I’m in the forties level wise.

Ok, I finished the campaign, just got that extra dungeon to do before I unlock the new tier.
Did anyone else find the story a bit... confusing? No specific spoilers or anything, but the whole thing felt all over the place. This person wants to destroy Sanctuary, this other person also wants that but hates the first person, evil people want to save Sanctuary so will help you but have their own plans, hell is bad but bad people also want to fight hell, etc. I'm very confused as to what some people's motivations are.
Still fun though! But I think earlier Diablos were a lot more straightforward.

Unless it was something for my build directly or a perfect roll (turn on advanced tooltips in menus) I sacrificed it for the fashion.

It needs an on screen arrow or trail. I am sure you know this, but you can mark a destination on the map with the square button (PS5, obv.), and it draws you a line to that destination on the mini-map.

I need to work out how to spoiler but the bit right before the end with the 3 people was just monumentally stupid. That cinematic though was excellent. Hoping it all becomes a bit clearer with the next part of the story.

God damn this is addictive! Had to force myself off it otherwise I'd be lying in bed wide awake at 2am dreading an early start for work in the morning.
Starting to feel a lot more powerful now at 54, but that's probably a mix of gear, paragon tree choices and Lilith altar bonuses. I can take down strongholds pretty easily now, whereas when I first hit WT3 I thought I'd have to drop down to WT1 to even stand a chance.

Still not sure what to do for the endgame loop so rolled a rogue and jeeeeeez it's powerful. Went with pen. arrow and the shadow imbue and it just blows things up. Feels less squishy than my sorc as well so far.
