In the Bear Tribe Refuge, the tribute quest giver is called Sena and I'm confident the voice is the same as female V in cyberpunk

Performance on steam deck is fantastic. I’m getting a pretty solid 50fps with settings all around high.
I’m dirtylake on there btw.

Usually I am maximising time in bed on work days. But just had to get a quick blast in this morning.

It's worth always having an elixir active. Costs nothing to make and they last for half an hour and all of them give 5% XP gain.

Usually I'd log in an all I'd see on my bnet friends list was 'x have not logged on for 2 years' or some such shit ... Now it alive with a load of D4 icons. Doesn't matter what time I log onto it either.

Hurry up new GPU with a copy of D4 (actually already have the code, but sounds like it will scan hardware to make sure you have an eligible card).
Not sure which class to go for at moment. Had been thinking about going with Druid after the beta, but since been playing D2 as Druid. I see Rogue is meant to be powerful, which is nice to see as I often find rogue classes are underpowered in these games. Then again, Sorceress is so flashy. Even considering Barbarian, as it is class I never play as.
Might end up just creating a character of each and play up to the first town to get a feel before deciding which to go with. I'm going to have two characters anyway, one for solo play and one to play with friends.

Gave it a few hours last night. It is a bit good isn't it. I had to stop myself playing it at about half one in the morning.
There's always a just check here, what's over there etc. I love that, but it's bad for getting other stuff done too! 😀

Having the characters develop with their own class specific path is such a welcome change. The enchantments on the sorc are just a great addition to round out your char a bit more.
I went and did my first stronghold last night. That was fun, I did it in the closed beta but I was t labelled as anything then so it's cool to see how they've used it. Bastard hard fight mind cos it's a couple of levels above you. Just hit 30 and completed act1. The fight at the end dropped me 2 legs, and along with another I found earlier, I've respected into cold cos daaaaaaam it's now op for me.
She a cold ass bitch now.

Damn, some of the later fights are tough! I actually have to dodge things, even on World Tier 1!
But I think I'm in a decent place at the moment, I just got my horsey. Bear goes smashy smash until everything dies, it's uncomplicated but satisfying.

Some of the harder fights are quite drawn out and tactical on WT2. I’m sticking with it so I can be all smug when you WT1 losers have to actually engage with the combat on the higher tiers. ;-)
Mid 30s now, closing in on the end of Act II. So so much of the map still unrevealed. Absolutely loving it. It’s taking over my life.

I’m pleasantly surprised at just how well this runs on Deck - I visited a friend and I plugged it into his TV and played a fair bit, mostly staying at 60fps even in a group. Sure, it was blurry at 720p, but running with integer scaling just made his 4K TV look like an old HD ready one with a really crisp panel.
Approaching the end of act 4 now, hopefully I’ll get through 5 tonight and then I’ll finish it soon enough - and then I can really start playing the game.

Bought on Xbox because thought a bit of lounge co-op would be good. However really missing mouse+keyboard, the proper way to do inventory management and messing with skill trees. And never mind the other half will rarely do said co-op. But to give Blizzard/Activision even more money on top of the ridiculous business model? AHH choices.

I did some fights on T2. But it took so, so damned long to kill bosses that I was having less fun overall. Some of them are ridiculous HP sponges, and they do a lot of damage. One boss near the end of Act 3 was a good 10 minutes or so of
1. Use barrier to prevent them one-shotting me 2. Do a few hits while barrier is up 3. Run away like coward while barrier recharges 4. Repeat
It's nice that a lot of boss attacks are telegraphed. But not all of them are, so I find it hard to avoid taking loads of damage. It becomes this battle of attrition thing where my feeling at the end is not "hooray, I did it!", more like "thank fuck that is over".

I can feel them going a bit that way already late in Act 2. Let’s see how well my resolve lasts. That said, Necro has a lot of options for tactical changes and crowd control so maybe I’m just in easy mode.

I’m sure I saw somewhere that the way to go was WT1 for the campaign then unlock WT3 and gather uniques. I went into WT2 for a bit and felt the same - bosses in particular have a lot of HP without necessarily having the complexity or damage output to make things more actually challenging.

There's this weird thing where, even though I am in the 40s in terms of level and so are all the enemies, the items that drop are usually several levels below me. I'm not sure why that happens. Items should scale up with you, right?

I was playing in a group going through earlier content and anything legendary was dropping 10-plus levels below me. Not sure what decides it - stuff from the gambling vendor and from story quests when playing solo, and anything yellow and blue from enemies, was dropping closer to my level.
I wonder if it’s they trying to nudge you towards using the Occultist to extract and attach aspects manually, to get you used to the system before it increases in price with level.

A bit easier if you have a dock with mouse and keyboard, but not the end of the world if you don't. I'd happily attach aspects manually! But the materials that I apparently need to do it are obtained from salvaging legendary things. And I don't get nearly enough legendary things to have a good supply of those materials. (and besides, usually I want to be extracting the powers from them, not salvaging them)
I really like this game. But right now it feels like there's a bit of grind to it, which I don't think should really be the case on the two lowest difficulty settings.

Yeah, I started on WT2 only because it said if you've played Diablo before and there have been some Elites and Bosses that have just one shot me because I wasn't really paying attention. I think I'm like lv35 or so and I'm using spacing and dodging more effective now. It's more enjoyable as I'm concentrating on what I'm doing as opposed to WT1 where I would probably just steamroll things and not really think about what I was doing.

You do start getting sacred drops at 50 (or possibly on WT3), which always seem to be at your level. I tend to just give other stuff a quick glance before marking as trash, and give sacred stuff a closer look.

Had very little time to play this so far, but just got to level 20. It's really excellent; loving the atmosphere and world. Quick question: these murmuring orbs that you trade in to the gamble merchant guy, I notice there is a cap of c. 500. I'm at, like, 490 already. Is it worth just gambling a few away, even at this early stage, to ensure I'm not capping out and leaving orbs on the ground etc.?

You can also buy Whispering Keys, which you’ll want to have a few of before venturing forth.
