I’ve won two out of three world class squad battles so far. Not tried above that. On 22 I tried the highest difficulty a few times with my 88 rated 100 chem team against a 60 rated team with no chem and got annihilated. At that point it feels like stats become completely irrelevant. A bronze CB with 45 pace was way faster than Mbappe, just became impossible.

It's worth pointing out that world class on ultimate team is normally easier than other modes. I think it's something to do with the way chemistry works.

What I will say is that the match-making seems fairly decent. Granted, I’ve only played 7 games now, but I’ve won 2, lost 2, and drawn 3. All fairly tight games.
Is weird seeing so many people with Neymar, Mbappe, and Haaland, mind. I’ve got Timo Werner up front lol

Online really isn't as daunting as it seems. Rivals you get knocked down a division if you're getting beat so you are placed with your skill level.

Ha! went on rivals and won 2-1 & 3-1. The latter involved me scoring 2 in the last 5 mins. My opponent must have been really fucked off.
Totally dominated both games though, could feel myself on edge whenever they attacked though.

So, I played 4 games of rivals. 2 wins, 1 draw, 1 defeat. Quite happy with that. In my defeat I was 2-0 down after 10 mins on the clock and thought it was going to be a cricket score. I got my shit together and although I didn't score, they were contained for the rest of the game.
The draw was the best game yet, end to end, we both rattled the bar a couple of times and both had chances to win it at the death.

Just had my first online game there. The defending is absolutely terrifying. 1's each with a later penalty for me which I imagine had him screaming German at the TV.

Had that on series X. Had to delete local data, and the reserved space bit, and that sorted it….also I think I loaded up as a guest profile, then swapped to mine once loaded as well. Can’t remember the order I did those in but no issues now

The game I got a draw in was surprising as when it did the preview at the start his team was fucking amazing, so I naturally thought the person controlling them would be as well. On the flip side one of my tight wins was against a team of shithouses full of bronze mooks. |

Bit of a weird mixed bag in Rivals tonight. Won a few, lost a few more; mostly close games, but I definitely got done a few times as well. Still really enjoying it.
Had a really strange game at the end, mind. Player I was up against had a ridiculous team: Lewandowski and Morientes (!!!) up front, Modric, DeJong, Dembele all playing. No idea how his Chem worked. But it was also clear that he/she was actually pretty shit (clearly did not know how to defend/jockey at all), yet I still lost as both the two up top literally scored 4 worldies lol Felt a bit cheap to be honest.

Ah got ya. Hadn’t thought of the league.
I’ve managed to get up to about 31 chem with what I currently have. Drops down to 29 if I play Varane to partner De Ligt at the back, so working out if that’s an acceptable trade off or not.

I played against this team last night. Not a loan player among them. Lost 2-0 but he was shit, outplayed him for 90 minutes (as evidenced by his keeper getting 8.1 and man of the match) but couldn’t stop that god like team breaking through a couple of times. I think I’ve found out who’s giving EA a billion a year in FUT revenue.  |

Yeah, some of the teams out there are ridiculous already. Just qualified for the FUT champions finals so will no doubt see some stacked teams in that. Rewards are decent if you do well though. Happy with my team now, got the balance and chemistry I want. And the players that can improve cost far too much to afford so this will probably be it for a while. Unless I pack some players. Ideally after, Koulibally, Son, KDB and Haaland.  |

Anyone that's playing career mode it's not worth taking an international job in the first season as the world cup doesn't happen. Came as quite a surprise as one of my goals was to get England to the quarters.

Doesn’t look like a defensive formation but it’s sorted my defensive issues immediately. Made me realise you have to be more aggressive trying to win the ball back, can’t sit in like 22 or you get picked off with passing moves. |
