Damn that looks good. Since we moved, we've got a gas oven for the first time. And it's fucking rubbish for pizza, doesn't matter where I place it, the bottom it never right. I've resorted to putting the pizza tray on a hob for a few minutes after the oven.

I've resorted to putting the pizza tray on a hob for a few minutes after the oven. That surprises me, I'd have thought a gas oven would be great. My advice would be, get a pizza stone and a baking steel; preheat your oven for fucking hours; use slightly more water in the dough than you usually would; and make sure you give it a good change to proof at just about every stage of making it. It's quite a laborious process but it works.

There's a recipe out there for pizzas in a frying pan, works really well Yeah pan pizza and baking sheet pizzas are both lovely.

I usually find it difficult to make much effort when cooking just for myself, but tonight I made reindeer steak with oven roasted potatoes and red beets with a cream sauce. Then home made apple pie for dessert. Now I feel very fat, happy and spoiled.

Well we all know who to blame if our Christmas presents don't arrive on time... In fairness it was already dead by the time I got involved. Skal, that sounds amazing. It's really good. Proper nostalgia food for me as we used to have reindeer a lot when I was little, though it's become much more expensive so I rarely buy it now. Don't know if it's available in the UK but worth trying if you get the chance. A bit like red deer, but less gamey.

skalpadda sounds amazing! Did you have a red nose jus with it? Speaking of steak I'm hoping for one as big as my head for tea.

Does sound pretty amazing and I'd definitely give it a try. I'm sure there are some speciality importers you could get reindeer meat from, and it sounds like something you might see in a Waitrose. Can't say I've ever come across it though.

I've got a homemade veg curry (potato, chickpea, carrot, mushroom, pepper, spinach) with wholegrain rice on the go. It'll be the healthiest tea I've had in a while.

Nah, I didn't have any in and I CBA to go to the shop. Wish I did though - normally I don't bother with rice and just go with naan, poppadom or roti.

Burritos. I haven't quite mastered the balance of ingredients but still pretty damn tasty.

Just ordered takeaway from the local Szechuan joint. I've ordered "devil chicken", I suspect I may die.
