You should start shopping at Iceland, you'd love their fare.

It really is just lasagne in name, it's just a pizza with some beef and a cheese sauce.
Not massively dissimilar to a cheese steak pizza really.

Equally as grim sounding.

At least it's not got fruit or honey on it. Chicken and apricot is a standard topping over here.

Not something I'd recommend eating for dinner, per se, but I tried Lotus Biscoff spread for the first time today. 'Twas delicious - basically spreadable biscuits.
Font Geek disclaimer: I haven't tried inserting it rectally (yet), so your mileage may vary.

I keep meaning to try that stuff. Häagen-Dazs Biscoff is ridiculously moreish stuff. Just hook it up to my veins!

Lidl sell their own biscoff magnums. They're magnificent. And if too much, microwave some of the spread and drizzle over vanilla ice cream. I feel that my laziness got in the way of a good business idea...was eating biscoff Ice cream in France about 20 years ago and it just wasn't a thing here. Knew it would take off.

My dad back in the 90s made it his life's work locating not only cafes that served lotus biscuits but any shop that sold packs of them. They were a real rarity back then and he was obsessed.

Images of young cubby sat in the car for hours waiting for his father to come back from the Biscoff den.

I almost replied in exactly the same manner before I realised the date of the post. I'm wondering how much salt/sodium would be contained in that.

The most farcical 'roast' I ever had. A hunk of cold, overcooked brisket with the texture of meatloaf. 'Seasonal vegetables' comprising a pile of green beans, raw red cabbage, and a corn on the cob. All topped with teriyaki sauce.
Looking at the rest of the menu it was clear that the chef is far more comfortable with generic Asian cuisine than anything else. That's fine, but the venue claims to be a pub.
I get that some people may like your weird teriyaki brisket dish, but don't fucking call it a roast. Especially when there's not a potato in sight, roast or otherwise.

Does the one here not count? I often check this thread before I go to any restaurant.

Meant to post this the other day, but forgot.
The chippy nearest my house was never the best in terms of quality, but it was within walking distance, cheap and did big portions.
It's been taken over recently and the new owners have decided that "chips" should be cut so thickly that each one is almost a quarter of a potato, and cooked in an oil that leaves them dry and tough, like badly done roast potatoes. Even drowning them in vinegar wouldn't soften them.
The price of a single canned soft drink with them now?
Three pound bastard thirty.
Went to the Londis two doors down and got a 1.5 litre bottle for a lot less.

Lizard have you left them a bad review? There didn't seem much point. It was such a bizarre concoction. Worse is that some guy at another table said 'it was the best roast he ever had' and that he would drive down from Napier (about five hours away) for it again! Fair enough if you like it, but it was objectively not a roast.

Stroganoff tonight, made from scratch by Mrs Mercury of course, delicious though not quite as good as when I make it using my since departed mums recipe but you know, you gotta keep some things to yourself.😉

Not for dinner, but for snacks"
Ghost Pepper 'Pringles'. They are very spicy and seem to make me cry. But I already popped and I can't seem to stop! Send help.

Leftovers for diner tonight, some old steak bakes I found in the fridge, (3 March before you ask) some cauliflower cheese from last week and some broccoli/green beans (actually I suspect their dates are good(ish)) all microwaved, (incidentally I really think microwaving green veg is the very best way to cook them) gravy of course, nice dinner.

You don't have to buy mushrooms, just pick them off your fridge shelves.

Nah, steamer basket all the way. Or depending on the veg a little bit of oil and seasoning and chuck it in an air fryer. Great for asparagus and sprouts.
