This is my worry, though I feel selfish for thinking so. Putin has said previously (years ago) that they'd never use nuclear weapons first, unless there was the risk of the distruction of Russia.

When you have the same leader and government cracking down so harshly on its own people, to prevent dissent, I don't think backing down is on the agenda or option. I don't think Putin or Russia can now at this point even if they wanted. They've lost so much financially, politically and in people that they need to achieve a victory or sorts.

So I guess my question is, when playing chicken with a madman seemingly blinded by hatred, longing for the days of the USSR starts threatening the use of nuclear weapons, at what point do you blink?

Giving into the bully maybe, but if Russia believes that a tactical nuclear weapon now would potentially prevent millions dying over years (from the perspective of how that would be perceived in Russia) and also make other ex soviet states fall into line.. It does scare me that it could be a real possibility,the longer this goes on.

Apparently SpaceX can no longer afford to run Starlink in Ukraine. Already the service has become patchy for Ukraine's armed forces. SpaceX had asked the US gov to cover the cost, about 20mil US a month.

This shows the massive problem you have when there is too much power in the (wrong) hands of one cunt.

Everything else was paid with tax dollars, I don’t think Raytheon send over a bunch of free Stingers for instance. Plus he was asked directly by someone high up in Ukraines government to send Starlink equipment, so I don’t think the poisoned gift angle really works here.

Once again, he was asked directly and publicly by Mykhailo Fedorov to send the equipment over, if he hadn’t you’d be in here saying he’s a cunt for not helping people in need.

And the US government paid for the equipment and the shipping and Musk is personally worth 200 or so billion dollars. Which is eleven times the value of actual weapons and supplies that the US has sent over
