We’ve probably all suffered something like this before. Twat with a cost cutting agenda comes in and wipes out decades worth of knowledge without understanding the details of each post.
Then big things start failing. And it turns out that one person has been the only thing keeping something critical online, doing so with scissors, glue and fresh air because the previous cost cutter wouldn’t fund the proper infrastructure to do the job properly.

Due to subcutaneous fat cells being removed, excess calories go straight into the visceral fat around organs
I read it online so quite likely bollocks.

The Leading podcast had General Petraeus on recently. He said they were doing "OK" in Iraq, trying to rebuild after the quicker than expected military victory. Then orders came from Donald Rumsfeld that they had to do this - the Iraqi Army was sacked overnight, leading to lots of unemployed pissed off blokes with guns on the streets. They sacked everyone in the Baath party, all the way down the chain. So basically everyone running anything. Lots of them were Western educated, sensible people. |

Yep. Saw them announce over 1m have signed up this week but it still feels pretty dead.
Plus lots of big companies have yet to make accounts.

It is happening. Last week has seen a big exodus from Twitter/X. Think I saw that Twitter/X lost 1/3rd of its UK accounts just last week and something like 1/5th in the US.
Bluesky is doing quite nicely off of it too. They just passed 14 million users. Not huge in the grand scheme of things (Threads isn't far off 300 million active users), but certainly as a user it is extremely active now. Bluesky seems to be the one with media attention though.

For me Bluesky is pretty much exactly like the Twitter I joined in 2010 and it's getting more and more people finally abandoning Xitter. I joined Twitter in about 2010 and then never used it. So maybe I should join BlueSky and never use that. It'll be just like 2010! |
