Said it before, but if you guys stopped posting twitter embeds, I'd probably never see twitter at all.
Then again, there might be a lot less discussions here.
Luckily the new pollicy of not letting you see replies unless you're logged it (which I'm never) means I don't see most of the other shit or get dragged down a rabbit hole.
It also means those tweet 1/47 things totally don't work anymore.

There are other routes. The U.K. has strong ties to Saudi Arabia where a lot of the Twitter money came from.
Perhaps the Saudiās could explain to Elon how they deal with people who insult their friends.

Does it count if I only ever made mine for a project years ago and got logged/forced off of it like a year ago? I don't even think I can remember my username and password to get in and delete it  (side note, it's quite nice that you only get the diet version of it when you're not logged in. I can't see replies to tweets, for instance, some posts don't show up at all, I can only assume because they're "NSFW" - they honestly aren't -, translating posts never works...) |

Starmer should get in touch with Bluesky (or whatever agreed platform they go with) along with maybe Democrats in the US and a few European governments. Present Bluesky with a bunch of rules to ensure the platform doesn't become hate filled. If they agree to adhere to them then the government agree to shutting down all government X accounts and ban it on government devices, and shifting over to Bluesky. Journos will have to follow them. BBC, ITV, Sky will have their political news staff moving over, so easy enough for those over on sports desk to do the same.
If politics and sports all move away from X it will just be the cesspit of altnews and a few Love Island contestants left there.
Alternatively, we all just agree that this whole idea of completely open Internet platforms with everyone shouting over each other was a silly idea and return to forums! Or sites where the default is closed off invite only communities for you to chat with friends and like-minded people (like Discord, but without the shit interface and less focus on instant messaging).
