Love the “probable savings” price including an estimated saving on how much petrol you wouldn’t buy. No way is that brick getting to 60mph in 2.6 seconds either Its got a little note that says that 0-60 excludes rollout. No idea what that means but sounds made up.

Those prices are pretty comparable to a ford f150 which I think dominates the market, so it's not too batshit. Tbh I was expecting prices in the 100k region, give or take.
The F150 *is* cheaper, doesn't look fuck ugly and and is more useful. And an EV version is coming out next year iirc if that's why you want this.

It’s a cheat. Rollout is the time it takes to get moving. Because these cars are all as heavy as fuck, they always lop off the time it takes to move a couple of feet. You can pretty much always add at least half a second to a Teslas quoted 0-60.
I can’t imagine this heap would be any different.

You have to wait 10 minutes for a Tesla to condition the batteries for a launch attempt as well

0-60 in less than 3 seconds in something that size sounds terrifying anyway.

Softer ball and filmed it in the darkest possible light so you can't see anything anyway.

looking at the early impressions it seems a decent enough truck that gets little to no benefit of being made from slabs of stainless steel

It won't crumple, that's the problem.

Top gear gave it an 8/10, but apparently the steer-by-wire is programmed to give incredibly twitchy handling at low speeds. I didn’t know there was no physical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels, absolutely no thank you

I didn’t know there was no physical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels, absolutely no thank you It's for a stupid gimmicky reason too, just so you can have the yoke steering wheel as that's not easy to fully turn. It does theoretically make emergency evasive actions easy but you more likely to crash as it's so twitchy/overly responsive.

Can you adjust the controller sensitivity? No, but you can invert the Y-axis.

You can yes.
As it's non mechanical you also don't get any road feedback like you normally would, so you don't have the instinctive signs that could be life saving - for example, this road is slippy... I think they have to use rumble like a controller to make it acceptable for drivers.

Can you adjust the controller sensitivity? No, but you can invert the Y-axis. That would've been cool a year ago, but I just spent the last year training myself to use the Y-Axis backwards!

They’re promising over the air updates will alter the steering. Sounds good when you rush out on the school run and realise halfway round the first corner you car steering has been changed overnight

If I can’t remap the brake peddle to the rear view mirror than frankly what’s the point?

If I can’t remap the brake peddle to the rear view mirror than frankly what’s the point? Why would you adjust the mirror as that bus stop full of kids tumble over the rear?

There’s no rear view mirror. They didn’t want wing mirrors either, but there’s a legal requirement to sell cars with those pesky things attached. Doesn’t matter, you’re encouraged to remove them so that instead of looking out the side window to see the mirror as well as the road around you, simply look at your centre screen, dismiss whatever is on the display, select the side camera view, look back out of the window to check your blind spot, back at the console display, make your manoeuvre and then turn the screen back to the previous display
