Subnautica 2 has got it's hooks into me like the first did. It has really polished the gameplay and presentation this time.
Only thing missing is that sense of "wow, what the hell do I do?" you had at the start of the first game. I haven't taken my time exploring as much because of it because I know what I'm looking for.

Has anyone tried Mad Max on PS5? It’s £5 right now on PSN and I was always tempted to get it but never did.
Important question: is it 60fps on PS5?

Sarfrin: It's a bit unpredictable for me sometimes. Pausing for one or two weeks can often already be too much. But with some games it's different. I think I had a rather stop-and-go experience with both Subnautica and Darkwood.
Ad walkthroughs: Nowadays whenever I'm playing one of the few point-and-clicks I'm still willing to give a chance, I will always quickly resort to a walkthrough if I get stuck for more than 10, 15 minutes. Puzzle games with consistent mechanics are a different deal, but point-and-clicks with their often disparate and sometimes illogical approach to the puzzling can be pretty frustrating.

Sorry, can't help you on PS5, but I recently played through again on XSX at 60fps and 120fps (only at 1080p for me on my LG B6) was present. Worth a punt just to experience the environment. They did a hell of a job giving a desert some character. The gameplay loop is repetitive but the major enemy encampments are all unique and built to fit their locale like I never saw in Far Cry games of the time. Was a highlight of last gen for me.

Hades is still my go to at the minute, it's great for a quick blast.
I've also go The Artful Escape in the go but right at the beginning so haven't really formed an opinion on it yet. I do love games that have a focus around music though, it's something that I would love to see more of.

Ooo interesting! Subnautica is one of my favourite games of all time. I should probably give the second one a try.

Subnautica 2 has got it's hooks into me like the first did. Oh, I hadn't realised Below Zero had become a full sequel. I really should finish the first one (stuck in the hot place without the tablet I need).

If you enjoyed the first you'll enjoy this too. More Subnautica 1.5 rather than a full blown sequel, but has a lot of QoL improvements.
Sounds great on the pulse headset too.

Red Dead Redemption 2
Factorio
and I still need to finish Subnautica: Below Zero and Dark Souls 3, two of my favourite games I can't muster the strength to see them through.

Absolutely nothing tonight. I hurt the end of my left thumb while pulling up weeds so all gamepad usage is out. I had to do the ironing instead. My wife is laughing at me for being a complete loser.

I am playing "Ion Fury" on the Switch, but I am not that happy with it to be honest. I like Retro Shooters and am a big fan of the original Doom, but the console port of Ion Fury just doesn't play as nicely. The controls don't translate as well as in Doom1&2, and I believe it's because everything is smaller in Ion Fury. There are these tiny enemies that you'll waste ammo on if you don't use the lock-on feature, and also switches are small and have to be put in the crosshair to operate - don't try that in a firefight. -_-
I am sure I'll find another retro fps that works better for me, but I am now at the "Warmech" Boss, about a third into the game... and I don't think I'll continue.

God of War on PS5.
I resisted it for ages, thinking I wouldn't like it much. Then played it through late (like, 2 years after everyone else) on an ailing PS4. I think I rushed through it and then the disk drive died and I couldn't replay it which was annoying because it was a rare one that I actually wanted a second run through on.
I'm glad I waited, I'm having a ball this time through. Although Kratos' parenting skills annoy the hell outta me. I suspect they're supposed to.

Just restarting The Long Dark, since episode 4 of the Wintermute campaign is not far away.
Anno 1800, bought the seasons 1 & 2 passes yesterday so will give it a bash.
Raft. Bounced off it before, but loving it this time around.
Metro Exodus. Brilliant, and makes my PC sound like a helicopter.

Went back to Battletech, and it's actually more enjoyable than I remembered. Maybe I'm doing something different now.

Metro Exodus. Brilliant, and makes my PC sound like a helicopter. Oh good, I've just snagged this for a tad over a tenner for PS4 - was £25+ for PS5 but it's a free upgrade so seemed rude not to.

Prey. I had this on PS4 but but regardless of my love for Arkane studio games the mimics movement and playing on pad just frustrated the fuck out of me. I picked it up cheap quite a while back (2 years?) on steam and its sat in my pile of shame since.
I started watching the Noclip doc but stopped it and installed it to get my arkane fix and to stave of a deathloop purchase. Fucking hell its great. Like "i wish i'd played this sooner" great but since i've never played it I'm experiencing the awesome for the first time.
The opening 'thing' (which admittedly I played on ps4) was still as epic feeling this time round. The environment is fantastically well realised and is literally crammed with shit to explore all over.
The 'looking glass' tech in this really is the shit. I've just been through hardware labs with a trip 'somewhere' to grab a keycard. I just got repair 2 and hoping if I go back again I can repair an airlock system to re-pressurise a locked off lab ... or I've just wasted like 6 neuromods.
i might post more in here as I play since we don't have a prey thread. This is currently pushing all my fun buttons so if you've never played it and bio/system shock/ desus ex is you thing, get on it.

Still playing Bloodstained, it's so fucking good even despite its shortcomings like the crappy/chaotic boss fights. I keep replaying it restricting myself to a single weapon type, each time learning more about the game and about those weapons and how to utilise them, and how to play it differently than with another weapon. All the while learning more about the ways of how to approach combat in general.
Generally playing it in hard mode, which seems what the game is actually balanced around. Once I'm done with learning all about different weapon types and shards, I'll have to go to the aptly named nightmare mode. Tried it before but couldn't make it past the first boss.

If you enjoyed the first you'll enjoy this too. I loved Subnautica right from the first moment I dived out of the capsule into the shallows of that alien ocean. I'll definitely be getting it, but I really want to push through and finish the first one before I do.

That's another one I drifted away from (inexplicably because I was enjoying it) and really should finish. It's long enough now that I'll probably have to restart it.

Psychonauts 2
I must be 4 or 5 hours in and this game has left me with a smile from ear to ear.
Fantastic level design, fantastic characters, fantastic voice actors.
It’s also an absolute stunner in 4K and HDR. Probably the best implementation of HDR I have seen in any game to date, it’s truly impressive. I thought my tv was going to melt because of all the neon lights shining in one level.
Couldn’t stop playing this tonight,

Just started Eastward. The game is ludicrously charming and not just graphically. Game play mechanics are very rudimentary at present though. However, I still want to keep playing just to meet more characters.

After a 4 year gap I have gone back to Agents of Mayhem and I'm almost finished now. I am enjoying and I have enjoyed but it is very samey gameplay, at least the rosta of characters, guns and abilities do mix it up to a good degree. Also still plugging away at Fallout 4 (first time, no mods)
Recently bought and probably next up: Song of Horror Bioshock remastered hd collection. This is the 4th time I have bought the Bioshock's! (360,ps3,ps4 xbox1) I absolutely love them, especially 1 and 2 of course.

Liking the Subnautica chat. I too must push on and finish the first one. Loved it, but I do tend to play it intensively for a couple of days, then go and do something else. Must stick with it this time.
Then I can give Below Zero a go once that hits Gamepass.
I’m also trying by to finish off Night in the Woods before it leaves GP at the end of the month. It’s an odd little game, almost 95% narrative and only 5% gameplay, but the writing is great and I do want to see what happens to these characters by the end.
Player character Mae is by turns hugely likeable and sympathetic, but then so frustrating and immature. It’s probably testament to the excellent and witty writing that I find myself hopping between being invested in Mae’s problems on the one hand, and then really feeling her parents’ fears and frustrations on the other.
Oh, and the music is really really good.

As for the topic, I'm now considering playing Hades again. I played it a lot in the past and uninstalled once I got somewhat bored of it.
