Bosses do dodge out the way of spells but that's down to using them at the wrong times. You get punished for panic using them which happened to me a lot.

Edge still exist is my main takeaway. Who knew? They do some decent articles, that websites don’t offer these days. They’ve always been fairly nitpicky with their reviews. |

Does anyone play this on PC? I think Frog does, anyone else? I ran Wukong's benchmark tool on steam to see if my rig can handle this - I mostly game on consoles, but I wanted to see how my i7-9700/RTX-3070 fares and it is cheaper to get on steam. I get 79fps on average (high up to 92fps/low down to 21fps) at 2560 x 1440 on the high graphics preset with full ray tracing OFF and frame generation ON; needless to say it looks great in my eyes, even without ray tracing. Silly question time: do you feel it plays average/good/great on your PC with similar specs? I'm on pc but have a 4080 and it looks lovely. Dropped this last week though as I'm stuck on a boss and really can't be arsed retrying. |

Well I’ve finally killed the Chapter 2 boss and now on Kang Long, nearly killed it first time but only close a couple of times.
Due to me enjoying the journey than the boss fights, I’ve found something called We Mod that lets you alter the game’s difficulty and damage effects. Has anyone used the app before?
I’m enjoying the game and don’t want to use the app all the time but when I’m stuck for ages on a boss, I don’t want to have to stop playing it. I don’t have the time to smash the same boss for hours and there’s more games coming out that I want to play.

It's your game, you should play it however you enjoy it most.
If that means tweaking the difficulty, go for it.

Is it OK to feel very lost with the story that's being told or am I just being culturally dumb? I've been reading thr anecdotes and enemy descriptions whenever they pop up but there's that many of them. I think I would be ok with it and there is something interesting about them in how some are almost like parables and having beaten Chapter 2 the different art of the music videos are a nice touch, but yeh otherwise I'm just exploring and beating things up

As far as I'm aware it's basically cherry picking moments from the Journey to the West, I wouldn't worry about it too much, just go with the flow.

What kind of build are you running? If memory serves I was all in on immobilise and rock skin, I think I might have been using the armour that enhances immobilise. Have you unlocked the blacksmith?

Mainly been reliant on increasing mana, so I can use immobilise as much as possible. Have fully upgraded the pluck of many and just trying to brute force my way through really. Not much finesse involved! Also fully upgraded the wight spirit and using the ochre(?) armour at the moment. Not reached the blacksmith yet. Tempted to push on further into chapter 3 and come back to Cyan if I can't beat him tonight. |

You are very close to the blacksmith, which lets you upgrade any armour of your choice.

Ah, ok - thanks. Just had another couple of goes, almost there but not quite! Can get within a couple of hits of killing him. Will push on to the blacksmith if I'm fairly close then and will return to kick his ass next time. It's weird, Tony the tiger didn't give me anywhere near this much trouble!

I started this last night, wasn't really anticipating getting stuck into it as I thought I'd fire it up to see how it looked whilst installing a couple of games onto my PS5. However, so far I'm quite enjoying it and it looks stunning. Yes, performance is a bit inconsistent but I'm not Digital Foundry so I don't care. It's a fun game. But then I have not actually reached any bosses yet so who knows how I'll feel after another go at it tonight.

I restarted this on Tuesday this week - from the beginning - after dropping g it to play Outlaws, Astro and Plucky Squire. I focused on very different spark upgrades to my first go through and every boss has died in under 4 attempts, most in less than 2. I gained access to the scroll village last night. It’s strange how much easier it is.

He was the first one that took 4 tries, though the 3rd was basically me mistiming every attack and dodge that it was over in 30 seconds.
I didn’t get past chapter 3 last time so I should be treading new ground soon.
