Nope, that's separate. 110gb update for Starfield and another 15gb for Shattered Space. I might get to start playing by about midnight.
I had an 8gb download on Steam, and nothing else seems to have triggered.
Ugh, that Creation Club screen is the ultimate example of how not to design something. What a fucking mess.

Install it from the store as its dlc not an update.

Huh. According to my installed files, Shattered Space is just over 8gb.
Verified file integrity, restarted Steam, no more updates so far. I'm wondering if it's somehow done a background download during the many hours I've been playing other things, and I just haven't noticed.
EDIT:
Well what do you know, it was installed. The distress call that kicks it off just dumped the first mission into my log.
EDIT:
And it crashed. Fucks sake. I'll wait until the end of the week when all the mods are updated.

I'm on Xbox which probably explains the difference. Anyway, update just finished, now downloading shattered space. About 30 minutes to go.

It's alright so far. Has all the trademark tight bethesda scripting.
"Hello, I'd like to join House Va'Ruun" "You are an outsider it will be extremely difficult." "So what's happening then Ruunies?" "Before I tell you that you must join House Va'Ruun" "How do I do that then?" "Just nip through the cave of induction, hit every mural up on the way through and you're golden"

I'm thinking I might like it, I enjoy playing Starfield but get pulled out of the experience with all the load screens when travelling between places. Where this is in one location it should be better for this side of things?
Currently doing the crimson dawn questline with UC and it's so much travelling between places to speak to people. Plus I have a small fuel tank so have to stagger my jumps between places and it makes a lot of busy work to get around. When I finally get somewhere to do so ething I have a good time!

Eeek. I mean, I’m still about half a year away from completing the main campaign at the rate I’m playing it, so this isn’t a huge loss for me. I’ll wait for more reviews, but if it really is that bad, you have to wonder why they bothered with it at all. Surely this is meant to be a redemption in progress? Not more sabotage.

It's really not a bad game tbh, it has some excellent quests and the best combat in a Bethesda game by some way. The thing that detracts from it most is the load screens, there are just too many of them. The faces arent the bets either but I can accept that in a game of this scale.

What Frog said. It's not the worst game and it has lots of things to like and I genuinely do not mind the engine as I think it produces some very pretty visuals. The gameplay and story just has the bits together in the wrong order and the interminable loading points for. e.v.e.r.y.thing! just grinds you down, never more so than actually trying to do quests on that oil rig planet. Fuck offff!!!

I will happily repeat that I am really enjoying the base game. This is my favourite Bethesda game by a country mile and I genuinely think it’s great. Not even the loading is an issue for me as I don’t tend to hop around all too frequently. The combat is solid and everything else is just the right kind of chill after a days work.

The crimson dawn questline has been absolutely brilliant as well, totally pulled me away from the main story and I still haven't quite decided what I'm going to do now I'm right at the end of it.

Starfield Community Patch:
"Sarah Morgan will no longer say "Not exactly the surface of Mercury, but this certainly is hot" while standing on the surface of Mercury."

The side quests are definitely the strong point. Though I got into the main story after the Neon mission. Still think the way it used New Game+ is the best use of that in any game. Now that I've finished Broken Sword I'll probably start Shattered Space. The faces look a lot better now anyways since the big update a few months back.

I initially thought I would just main line the story but there is so much side stuff that is better I have been dragged off doing all sorts.
Probably has my favourite lock picking in a game so far as well.

If only there was something worthwhile behind the locks.
Ooh, a master level safe, I wonder what's in there.....yay, a replacement digipick and a sandwich, just what I always wanted.

You not building a collection of sandwiches to store on your crew’s beds?

The loot was a bit of a disappointment. i could craft much better from what I recall after a point. I was only lockpicking because I could by the end.
Definitely plenty to get out of it, but I haven't been tempted to even check out the dlc as the thought of all those loading screens for space travel, then getting on to a planet was such a pita.

I haven't crafted anything at all yet because that would mean picking up lots of stuff all the time and who has time for that.

I found that routinely i was picking up a lot of stuff, becoming regularly over encumbered, getting back to my ship and finding out i hadn't picked up anything that was useful in crafting despite all the items saying they were for crafting.

I’ll get to the DLC soon (I got the expansion for launch so I own it already), I just need to decide if I’m going in with mods or not. Tempted to go back to my last non-modded save and start the DLC from there so it’s the way Bethesda intended, but I’ll miss my crate of many things and the power that’s like fus-ro-dah now.

That's what was happening to me Jambo so I only pick up money, ammo and weapons now unless its something special.

I finished one play through ages ago and was planning to go new game plus when the dlc came out. For those that are on the new content, is that a sound decision or better off doing Shattered Space before ng+?
