Right, that's what I remembered too, I just wouldn't put it past Nintendo to go "Psych! We're going for Holiday 2022 after all!"
Still, better not to rush it. I'd much rather get a complete game in March or so than a rushed one just to grab the Christmas release date.

Give them more time to hide another 500 boring seeds to track down as content What, you didn't like the golden poo we got for collecting all of them? I actually liked that there were so many because it made it much easier to get however many you wanted for item space instead of having to track down every last one. Can see it being a completionist's nightmare though... Plus, hey, it's an accidental Blue Dragon reference (or rather, both this and the Golden Poo Snake over at BD are a reference to the same thing...)

I didn't like that, I wasn't overly keen on a lot of the shrines and I hated the breaking weapons. The stamina system wasn't something I liked much either along with the lack of dungeons.

If you take out all the bits that froggy hated from Breath of the Wild, you get AssCreed Origins.

No chance for BotW. MW2, not even going to answer that one. As for this being a Bethesda game, of course they’ll use similar gameplay. What are you expecting? The point I make about them having to do a lot of building is that this is a huge RPG with multiple aspects to develop. BOTW, currently, is scheduled within 12 months. It may slip, sure. So may this. Why aren’t you going to answer MW2? You don’t think it’ll be a bigger selling game? You asked what bigger games were coming in the next year. Why not? If it’s a major component of the game, and it is because it’s the primary combat interaction, then why shouldn’t we expect it to be excellent? They don’t “have” to do any of the things they’re putting in the game. They’re choosing the scale and scope, and where they commit resources, for the last 7 years. You’ve got games such as Far Cry and Horizon that are juggling multiple designs, gameplay, systems, along with open world content, visuals, character interactions, and VO, etc, that aren’t struggling in the same way. They aren’t as large, no, but this also doesn’t have to be either. I’d wager you could shrink Starfield by 3/4s and it’d still have the same issues though. Mostly this all just goes back to the janky-ass engine but dev is a game of balancing choices against resources. None of this is to say the game won’t be entertaining, especially within the value system of GP. I expect it’ll get a lot of criticism but still be huge value for the price of entry.

Anyway, it is a bit unfair that people want Bethesda games to have better things than they currently have. It's not as if they're rolling in cash or anything.

Two of their three franchises now have first person shooting combat - might want to focus on making that fun. It's likely that you will spend the majority of your time in Starfield either talking to or shooting people
They could have spent the last 10 years low-key developing a new engine surely

Yes but within 12 months = before June 2023 which is when it'd due to come out (unless delayed again).

Say what you want about Stafield but it's already got people talking. About release dates for other games

I don't see a Switch pro happening at the moment with the current sales of the switch not slowing down and the current chip shortage. Perhaps maybe late 2023/early 2024.

I've no idea, might well be later next year but they're not going to wait till Switch sales fall off a cliff, are they? Sales are slowing down though.

I'd say either March 2023 because it hits the 6-year mark for both BotW and Switch, or Holidays 2023. Can't see a summer release for either, for some reason.

I am a bit curious if we'll see some difference with Microsoft as overlords. Bethesda seems mostly to have been left alone under Zenimax, but they didn't have huge budgets for their games. Who knows, they may even do some QA testing.

I’ve no idea, I can imagine that the OLED switch should have been the pro but chip shortages screwed that up, whether that is now or soon resolved I’ve no idea. I’ve no idea when it’ll come , my point is that it wouldn’t make sense to wait too long.

Yeah, I'm also sure I read that relatively Bethesda game studios isn't that big in raw staff numbers.

QA testing?! Please. It's Bethesda, the bad things about their games are good!
Oh ok, there's a few game-breaking bugs, but modders will fix those for free! Unless you're on console.
