My 15p to the EBU went to Switzerland, the performance tonight was excellent. Makes a change anything I vote for wins, Croatia were great though.
And now the UK voted 12 to Israel, fuck you general public.
This no doubt happened in several countries and we were tipped off to it happening with the Italy vote release on Thursday. It was a coordinated effort that only didn't work because the juries didn't vote for them.

UK also voted for Brexit and 14 years of the Tories, checks out. Yeah we have a history…

Just to see what happens, it would be great if the U.K. could enter someone who was at the height of their global fame, with a song and staging that was out of this world, just to see if that would get zero public votes.

Bit less impressive without the staging

What we've learned is that the public can't be trusted to vote. Hopefully this is the worst example of bad voting in the UK this year.

It's just to balance out you (UK, not you personally) loving all of Europe so much that you (again, not personally) voted for Brexit I guess...

Braverman smiled, ate the last Pringle, and went to bed.

It's quite possible the UK would have been hosting Eurovision last year for Sam Ryder winning and not just to help out Ukraine, we can blame Russia for that second place.

Even when we’re actually good. But in our defence, the vote was 100% public. If there was a jury vote it might have been different.

I still don’t get why so many people think that Sam Ryder song was such a classic

I still don’t get why so many people think that Sam Ryder song was such a classic You mean the 2022 UK entry? Musically it was good and the vocals (besides the falsetto) had some Freddie Mercury vibes for sure, IMHO.
Edit: For what it's worth, in my book, it's the best UK entry I can remember. Not original in any shape or form, I'll give you that, but easy to listen to and had that 70's feeling...

To be fair, as with all music it’s deeply personal.
My reasons are threefold:
1. He has one hell of a voice. That reach from Space to Man is mad. 2. It’s a song about isolation and it gets me personally. It still makes me cry a bit when I hear it. 3. I knew a kid at school who was smelly, dandruffy, and unpopular. His favourite band was Babylon Zoo. The song reminded me that however bad life got, at least I wasn’t him.

Well, we didn't give a single vote to Israel (I think... Our public vote didn't have it in the list I'm pretty sure, at least) Also, er Yet again the public are wrong. Didn't the public vote more for Croatia (by a good margin, too)? It's just that Switzerland had like 360 points by jury votes... Unless you were talking about the Israel vote

Tremendous shout if Free Palestine there when Cyprus gave Israel 8 points, cunts In their defence, Cyprus considers Israel an ally, both in military and commercial cases.

Still reeling over just how badly Finland did there. We knew the jury wouldn't vote for it, but 33 points TOTAL from the public seemed even harsher than the 0 points was for the UK.

I ate away my feelings. Highly recommend Tesco’s tempura prawns.
But that was a lot of fun. Plenty of chuckles from this thread tonight. Thanks guys - same time next year?

I think Finland also suffered from there being another bigger better goofy stompy floorfiller in the competition, arguably two if the Dutch had performed.
Last year there wasn’t really anything like Cha Cha Cha but this time multiple acts were broadly falling into that category and all the vote was hoovered up by Croatia.

Otherwise all you get is a load of turgid sincere ballads like half the songs tonight.

ABSOLUTELY NO COORDINATED BRIGADING AT ALL
I'd care slightly less if it was a good song but I can't even recall anything about it.
