Yeah, started tonight.
I really need to pick this up again. First season was quite good from what I remember. Got retry weird in places.

Ooh nice.
As well as the earlier series of this, I need to rewatch Psychoville, if I can find it.

This snuck up on me a bit. Just happened to see mention of the trailer for it the other day.
It's impressive they've managed to keep this series going and even seems to get better with each passing season. Hope they manage to get to the 9 seasons they are aiming for.
Very much enjoyed last night's. They always manage to do the perfect blend of comedy and tragedy, with this episode being a great example of that.
Nice to see Gatis with them again, particularly as it is an episode about reunions. They avoid making it about their past collaborations though. His role could have been anyone and that was the right approach to take.
The final moments were perhaps too on the nose, although maybe some would need it spelt out. Just hearing his name being called was a perfect finish though.
Still one of the best things, if not the best thing, on telly at the moment.

I dunno - I feel the last series, and yesterdays first Ep, were a bit tired. Some of the earlier seasons and certain episodes were absolute genius. The last few years have never reached those heights.
That being said I really enjoyed yesterdays up until last few minutes, great writing.
But the genius of Quiet Night In, and The Riddle of the Sphinx for two perfect examples, are going to be hard to meet.

I’d agree with that. I enjoyed it, and as a character piece it was lovely, but I was almost hoping there was no twist or surprise with ones like that. Still enjoyed it, though seeing people on T’internet questioning “who was where” makes me worry about the state of the nation Edit: Forgot to mention “When life gives you melons…” and “have you ever been in 5 guys?” - Stellar lines!

Probably right to say that the highs are not as high, but I reckon the last 2 or so seasons have been much more consistent. I don't think there has been a single episode that I wouldn't say was very good and they have mostly been great. It has always been good and don't think I could name an outright bad episode, but I would say older seasons were a bit more hit and miss.

Wow the latest episode is a treat Can’t say to much about it, but it’s a strange take on global warming education😊

Caught up with the first two episodes.
The first is so weirdly paced, it feels like a 45 minute episode that just had the ending chopped down at the last minute.
The second was more typical, although I felt like it delves into some well worn tropes at the end.

Was very disappointed to find it not on the Wednesday just gone.
Just seen the other day that an American version has been commissioned. Shearsmith and Pemberton will be exec. producers, but presumably not starring in it and probably not writing (I'm sure the announcement would have said somewhere).
Not sure I really see the point. Yes, the format of the show is "things happening in a place numbered 9", but really it is Shearsmith and Pemberton's performances and writing that is what makes the different stories fit together as a package. Without them, I don't see how it would work and why whoever bought the American rights didn't just make any old anthology show. Perhaps the name Inside No. 9 carries weight over in the States, which would be surprising considering it doesn't really over here.

Yeah you need at least the same 2 actors to give the show some identity. The 9 aspect isn't what holds it together.

Loved the second episode though

An odd episode this week. This sort of thing often feels a bit like having your cake and eating it. Forced clichés and hokey dialogue still feels like clichés and hokey dialogue. It left me a little uninterested in the apparent main plot of a detective and abduction case initially, although the odd presentation made it obvious more was going on and the fairly Lynchian feel to the disjointed scenes kept me interested enough.
It felt a bit like one that would reward re-watching, whilst at the same time it hangs so much on the mystery, particularly in its opening half, that it may not be as interesting.
Spooky credits at the end
