Sony make brilliant first party games but they are mostly 3rd person open world games to the point they are frequently criticised for it. They are now. Prior to last gen, they were all single-player Hollywood style linear narrative games. And they were criticized for that too. The quality is usually high, I won't dispute that, but they do have a tendency to find a formula and stick to it. |

Let's be honest, if you want wall to wall AAA exclusive bangers none of these conferences are EVER that. It's just the market these days, there's actually very few exclusive games in the overall scheme of things, and even then half of those are timed.

Can’t really fault MS for showing a lot of diverse titles here but there’s almost nothing for me so far.

The guy doing the Audio Description version of the stream is either doing a comedy persona that's just not landing, or he actually talks like that and is the kind of person I would avoid like the plague.

Problem so far is there's games I'd definitely play for free on gamepass out of this lot. But there's nothing to actually excite me or push boundaries.
Possible exception being Plague Tale 2. Absolutely adored the first game.

I missed the Sony stream but their 1st party exclusive are so much better and varied than MS, it’s not funny . It'd be nice if they had shown any this year then, wouldn't it? Although tbh, I'm not super big on Sony's first parties apart from Insomniac. Bring back Psygnosis and Wipeout and then we'll talk. To be fair, this year they've released GT7, Horizon 2 and the Uncharted collection thingy, not much but nothing whatsoever from MS. |

There's dozens and dozens of titles being shown here, plenty of gameplay on display and a fair amount of variety, but very little of it does anything for me specifically. I am totally stuck in a rut with the types of games I play though. I played Unpacking through the other day on Gamepass because I was after the achievements for Xbox Rewards, but it turned into a surprisingly moving affair that I totally wouldn't have touched otherwise. Type of game that would make for a shit trailer at these conferences. |
