I hadn’t heard of this until today, but it looks both terrible and surprisingly excellent at the same time.
A weird Final Fantasy action rpg developed by the Nioh devs.
I am very tempted. Anyone actually played it? The combat looks very cool.

I do like the idea of a slightly more accessible souls type game. There's absolutely no way it doesn't flop and hit the bargain bin in weeks though, so I'm happy to be a vulture on this one.

The demo was really fun. Writing is fuckin' stupid but I kind of like that. The combat and class system are really well done, and I do like having two AI partners beside you the entire time, helping with crowd control.
As a big Souls non-fan, this is probably my favorite of this type from a pure gameplay perspective. It's dumb as hell though.

It was always going to have decent combat coming from Team Ninja.

Platinum are quickly turning into a very hit and miss developer though to be fair. They seem to be churning out mainly shit recently.

Yeah, they do seem to have an A and B team although this most recent one seems to have been a bigger title. It is weird. I played through that old transformers game last year and it was still great.

I’ve played the demo in the meantime, and while everything that isn‘t gameplay is utter shit, the combat is very, very nice, and seems quite deep, with the different jobs you can combine. I am sorely tempted, as the only games I seem to care about these days are games where I can kill mobs, in order to level up and find better gear, so that I can kill bigger mobs.
Anyone played the full gAme yet? The cheesiness is still my last obstacle before I buy it…
edit : just realized it’s not on sale anymore on PSN, must have ended tonight. Was 25% off I think.

Yeah, I played the (generous) demo. Apparently, its pretty much the entire first area, so I think what you see is what youre going to get. I think i'll get it sub-20 or something because it is basically a dumbed down nioh and I did have fun playing it. The story is absolutely atrocious though. I checked to see what the demo actually was because everything seemed to pop up completely at random but, no, apparently thats whats supposed to happen.

Cheers, yeah, that's pretty much my impressions as well. Sub 20 sounds reasonable, if only I had anything else to play. Well, I *have* enough to play, but nothing except stat-heavy action RPGs seems to hold my interest these days.
