Hmm that's a bit odd really, not sure what to make of it, I still have the real thing in a box somewhere, think I'd sooner have that out on display.

Probably just me but I don’t get the Lego games console fad at all. At least not consoles with zero functionality and just display pieces. Pac-Man I can get more onboard with as at least you can mock play it…
Each to their own tho!

Well with older things you can see the nostalgia factor, especially as some of those console designs are so iconic, but yeah...

New Lego UCS Venator… £560?! www.lego.com/en-gb/product/venator-class-republic-attack-cruiser-75367Can see this being heavily discounted to approx £400 before it starts selling imo. Granted the scale is impressive but it’s hardly an iconic SW set and that’s a week long holiday budget for many. Reminds me of my bro in law buying and regretting the UCS star destroyer of a similar size. Massive dust magnet you can do little with. Building it quite fun. Breaking it down for 2nd hand sale to get a couple hundred £ back into the bank totally soul destroying lol!

This one is going to sell like fucking gang busters.
It’s a hugely popular ship for SW fans who have yet to need to pluck their ears on a bi-weekly basis. Some of us who do have wanted a Venator for years just because it looks fucking cool as fuck
It’s also meant to be fantastically good model. I think it’ll sell loads.

Can’t deny it’s the best looking “destroyer class” (is that right I have no idea?) size ship I’ve seen so it will look ace but it’s still super expensive!
Think I’d still rather have Rivendell and save some money in the process…

I can't see Lego doing real world military sets. Doesn't really match their image.
Anyone tried any of the Lego-adjacent Mould King sets? Son wants lego technic with motors and remote control, but those are crazy expensive. Mould King have some much more reasonably priced robot sets that include motors and a remote that look identical to the lego ones. As long as they aren't going to explode or anything.

I also love the woman who's photographed with it. She just screams Dune fan.

Dear god buying Lego is either going to be the death of my savings or the end of my marriage and at this point I’m unsure what’s going to happen first 😂

Since kids I haven't bought any lego since the fisherman's shop.
There is literally about 20 sets I would buy tomorrow if I could.

In a parallel universe don’t have kids, have disposable income to buy a handful of big sets each year to be told after about 5 years that if any more turn up you can find your own house to keep them in

How do I get there haha

Just popped into the thread to say how much fun the Super Mario Lego set is (for a five year old). The figures are genius.

Just had the Concorde delivered, need to find somewhere for it to live before I can build it though. In the loft next to the MT10 it goes for the foreseeable

I'm a bit of a lego noob (well, when it comes to big expensive sets, when I was a kid it was just bricks and you built what was in your head, jumpers for goalposts, it were all fields), so do people generally leave the set in its finished constructed state then? When I build a set with my kids we just take it apart again afterwards and bung all the pieces in a huge bucket, so we can make it again one day if we feel like it.

I don’t think there’s any hard and fast rules, I’m not a massive Lego guy but we have a few models dotted around that we enjoyed building and are pretty cool, like the Saturn V on a cabinet in the lounge. Most of them are smaller architecture/cityscape ones, motorbike ones in the office. Got a load of have destroyed or in bits sets in boxes in the loft as well

Of course my son wants to (re-)buy the set every time he wants to make it again and doesn't really understand the concept of endless replayability/rebuildability (fuck off Firefox spellcheck those are words). What I really need is a brick pit with proper drawers and pieces sorted by type and colour to save me literally hours of piece hunting but yeah.

I just lob each one in a plastic bag to keep the bits together then in the box with the others to be forgotten about until we move

^ This, we have a couple of those Ikea boxes that you can build on and to store loose bits, and with our specific sets they are either still built and being played with, or taken apart and put into big baggies. We do have a few sets that have been slowly taken apart for building other things that will take ages to rebuild if my daughter ever wants them in their original state again.

This is probably going to sound like overkill, but when I do take a set apart I use those sealable freezer bags then go backwards through the manual putting all the pieces back into the correct bag, which I number with a sharpie.
It takes a bit more effort, but when you want to build it again everything is in the correct bag and the build is nice and straightforward. I also keep the boxes, which I flatten out and store on a shelf in the garage.
I'm weird like that.
