Most of the full sets they covered are up separately now. In was a faff over the weekend having to jump around timestamps on the livefeed before they updated iplayer overnight

Standouts for me were Wolf Alice and Yves Tumor, love a good band that'd scare your Mary Whitehouse types (Talking about Yves not Alice).

Fyi for the old men above Olivia Rodrigo is amazing. . Maybe not the right audience to be fair but her album sour is one of the best of resent time in regards to pop music.

Is iplayer the only way of catching up on some of this? I suspect so. It's been a bit of a big confusing mess IMO. I haven't watched it in years but the upside is amongst said confusing mess there's a lot more to see than the days of terrestrial telly. Although aren't you in Europe (could be wrong there), if so what is the craic with being able to view iPlayer or not? IPlayer seems to spot any vpn use so is a non starter, that’s why I was asking. Some individual songs are available on the BBC Music you tube channel. I think that’s my whack.

Got to the enter registration details page 9 times and the confirm registration details page twice. And every time it crashed. No Glasto for me next year.

I picked the right year to fail to get a ticket. That is astonishingly bad.

Normally find a lot of the bands I want to see come in the second or third waves, but still, it's pretty disappointing as there were 10 bands or more I wanted to see on last years first release.
Will probably go and see GnR just for old times sake (was a fan in my early teenage years), but really there is little standing out. Sparks and Blondie I would like to see, but hardly getting the pulse racing.

Glastonbury isn't about the music its about the experience...
That's the excuse millions of people with no music taste have been using for the last 20 years

It's very true, but the experience is enhanced if there's music you're excited about.

We do other kinds of snobbery too! Have you not read the film, game and TV threads?
Didn't even know GnR were still going.

See, I think that's alright. Certainly seen worse.
Wouldn't bother with GnR going by some of the live recording of Axl, his voice is shot.
A few too many UK rap artists for my liking, I can't help but associate UK rap as the aldi version of US hip-hop culture.

Given how expensive Elton John tour tickets are Glasto could be argued as reasonable value this year!
For me the headliners are declined versions of their younger selves though. GNR Axl’s voice is beyond rough now. AM still top drawer but last 2 albums are more arty elevator music than singalong tunes. EJ legendary but voice again not great…
With the BBC coverage being as exceptional as it is (quality of view and range of artists covered!) it’s not a festival I can commit to on the basis of huge cost, big time and travel commitment and no love for suspect substances. Good luck to those that go though!

Yeah, it's got the usual amount of stuff I'd want to see in fairness. My missus would absolutely wet herself at the prospect of Lana del Ray, so I'm actually kind of glad we didn't get tickets now.

You're glad you didn't get tickets because your wife would have enjoyed it?

I've suffered through worse live acts for her in fairness, and obviously would've done it again if we actually bothered registering for tickets in the first place. I'm just really not a fan of that dreary manufactured nonsense in case it wasn't obvious.

ZomoniacShows how up to date my news is... There were lots of claims of it when she started to get big, but it may have just been nonsense. Just extremely dreary, then.

The first album is great and I really liked the 'West Coast' song.
If somebody offered me tickets to this I'd know I'd get some value from GNR, Manics, I'd watch Lana out of curiosity and I actually think Lizzo is ace so I'd be there for that, unless she clashed with The Manics who are a classic, classic band IMO.
I've never been able to stand the music of Elton John save a couple of songs (Tiny Dancer and Yellow Brick Road maybe). His voice is about three octaves lower now too.
There's a couple of others that I think 'not my bag enough to pay for but bet it would be good if you were stuck for something to do' like Fatboy Slim, Rudimental and a couple of others.
I personally found a lot of the side stage acts on the Beeb coverage last year a lot more interesting than the headliners.
I think the art of the festival has been a bit lost. I remember absolutely stupid lineups at Reading and Leeds back in the day and they are now completely uninspiring.

I think that's true of all festivals tbh. I live 8 miles from one and haven't been in 10 years (some due to affordability, some just uninspired line ups. Bar Pulp who I have seen before, this year is definitely in the latter).

Isn’t there a lot more festivals now do the availability of top acts stretched?
