Has Axl got a charity shop rail out the back that he keeps on raiding?

Itās the teeth. Now he has a mouth full of horse grade veneers, itās absolutely fucked his voice. Itās so sibilant, itās like my gran singing it after getting her new falsies

Sad Boy Tom Grennanās trousers are an absolute disgrace.

Nemesis The Holy Bible is my favourite album by some margin, love evwrytbing about it. Probably Everything Must Go after that, but I do have a soft spot for Gold Against the Soul. Gold Against the Soul is brilliant. I like the Manics quite a lot, I don't really understand why they seem to generate such extreme reactions in some people.

Because it was originally sang in a lower register. What he wouldnāt give for a Time Machine now

I don't really understand why they seem to generate such extreme reactions in some people. I absolutely hate them and I canāt really put my finger on why. Pretty much every song other than motorcycle emptiness grates on me like nails down a blackboard.

I get the criticisms that they are a bit blah or MoR but yeah, you're not the first I've seen to think that!

I think itās just the completely emotionless boring excuse for ārockā they create.

Kind of ironic have one of the three guys who killed their entire genre of music up on stage with them

GnR faired a lot better than I thought they would tonight. Axlās voice was walking a tightrope, there were a few deep cuts that probably went over the crowds heads, but the hits are so big and the energy kept up so high that I think it was a broadly a successful night for them.
Skipping around online it certainly seems better than the Arctic Monkeyās dead eyed snoozeathon was last night. Voice or no voice Axl at least remembered headliners are there to entertain.

Did they actually remove Billy Nomates from iplayer? Because that would be a shame. I'm kinda interested to listen now.

Slash was incredible for the GānāR set as were the rest of the band! Axl bless him did his best. Itās good to still have him up there though, better that than another frontman stepping in (like Queen with Adam Lambertā¦ still great to see them but itās just not the sameā¦)
Big feels for Lewis Capaldi too. Gave it his best and the lad (like his music or not) has such a terrific voice and so brave not to shy away from his condition publicly and he took it as far as he could. I hope he can maybe scale things back and carry on as a top tier artist. Heās got a big enough of a following now to stop trying to headline festivals and huge stadium crowd size shows. Keep putting out high level tunes, maybe shorten tour commitments at no bigger than large club crowd levels and shorten your set lengths. Plenty of fans would still show up and you can always put out live performances digitally. Must have enough money in the bank by now to not put himself through such hard tests every time with such massive showsā¦

Yeah, seeing the crowd take over to help him is pretty emotional tbh. He could easily hide but fair play.

Slash keeps on saving it singlehanded. Without a doubt! I thought Axl did as good a job as could be expected... heard him sound a lot worse before, but the main thing about GnR these days is obviously Slash who continues to be an absolute legend. There aren't many genuine guitar heroes around anymore, especially ones still doing what they've been doing for the past 40 years, top hat and all.

Re: Arctic Monkeys
Iām very much a bands/album person as opposed to a tracks/playlists one, and seeing how bands and their album output evolves is one of the most interesting parts of being into music for me. Thereās so many different ways it can go. Some simply finesse their style, others completely reinvent it. Some cross genres, some invent new ones. Some get worse and a very rare few keep getting better, or at least stay relevant.
So I do quite like the more recent AM albums but theyāre definitely less of a Radiohead or Beatles, and more of a U2, in terms of how theyāve evolved. Itās just lost itās fire a bit and itās all smoothed out. But itās high quality and thereās nothing wrong with that. But yeah I kind of get the criticisms and I think the disappointment isnāt so much that they donāt sound how they used to, but that their sound hasnāt evolved in a very exciting way. Particularly after AM actually was a very exciting evolution on their sound and a very original album. That felt like their āOK Computerā moment but they didnāt follow the trajectory.
