It's good, although the free provision is a bit limited. Nevertheless, for some things, it's good to have a properly encrypted mail application.
I actually do have a Hotmail, but I can't remember the last time I logged into it.
I used to use it to dump email for things I registered for but didn't really give a shit about into.

It's not used and I have no idea what the password is, but in theory it still works.

I used to use it to dump email for things I registered for but didn't really give a shit about into. My hotmail is my main account for this reason. So many services and obnoxious email lists, so I use the old hotmail to sign up on everything but I don't have my real name attached to it or said services, so I don't feel I lose anything if it's ever compromised in a massive hack. The icloud's the one I use for official govermment, medical etc, but I rarely give that one out.

Hey, check out theguy with a Hotmail address! I actually have more than 1. I've been such a fool... Is this why I never get invited to the Font Geek parties?

There are Font Geek parties? So I've heard. The highlight is when everyone plays Musical Chair. Singular, because there's only the special FG one.

And no-one wants to sit on it, so when the music stops we just stand around looking awkward.

Is GDPR in force in the UK anyway? While not cool, most probably nothing will result from leaking the address to some parents. Unless one of them is a spammer, of which there's I'd say a 50/50 chance. If you're an EU citizen, yes. If you're a UK national, no. UK nationals are protected by the Data Protection Act (https://www.gov.uk/data-protection). The penalties for DPA are less harsh than GDPR penalties but the protection is effectively the same as DPA was built on GDPR compliance to make things easier for everyone. I wouldn't really worry about a random parent at my school using my email address for anything nefarious. But the risk / inconvenience mainly comes from when a random parent's mail account get hijacked and then everyone in the email address gets phishing from a supposedly good email address. "Oh, that's Tom's dad from school. He wants my number for a swingers party, alright, here you go Tom's dad."
