Let me guess "stability and performance" fixes.
Bet it kills off some exploits.

Not a great update ... www.eurogamer.net/playstation-vita-and-ps3-system-update-adds-new-security-measuresMy Vita's basically "dead" anyway, and has been for the better part of a year. More the memory card that's constantly failing, but the cards are too rare, too expensive and too small in capacity to consider replacing. Also, it consantly gets stuck when I try to put it in sleep mode, just sort of freezes with the screen on until the battery drains.

You can use any SD card with a simple hack. I was going to but shelved it, as I couldn't get a definitive answer to whether doing it would cause Sony to lock me out of my account. I just bought an 8GB card from CEX for about £12? I only ever play a few games at a time, so easy enough to delete, then download again.
The biggest annoyance of playing the Vita legitimately is a lot of the games have been removed from the store already, and buying physical is insanely expensive. Once I'm done with the PS Plus games I have, I'll probably hack it.

Just checked and there's a 32GB one in mine... I'm sitting on a goldmine!
Although it cost me £50 to begin with so maybe not...

Like others I love my Vita too but I've misplaced the charging cable and can't find it anymore. Stupid proprietary design.

You could probably pick up a knock-off cable for a few quid (not the full thing, just the detachable bit with a USB connector and the proprietary one)

I had to replace my Vita 1st gen cable once as the old one had got worn at the connector. Was fun Finding a decent one back however many years ago it was, dread to think how hard they are to get now. It did last and still works well though.
I have considered looking into replacement batteries too but finding reliable ones is a hassle (same with my dual shock 3s andb PSPs)

I'll have to look into it when I'm back from holidays. I noticed the missing cable when I wanted to pack the Vita for the trip.

Vita cables are available no problem over here and for pennies, too. I’ve bought a few and they weren’t great for data (dropped connections, cable-dependent), but charge the console fine.

Just updated my Vita as it's still stock and I haven't modded it at all, and don't intend to. Not used it in a while, I still love the hardware. Surprisingly the battery still had 50% charge despite not being used for a year.
