Tekken 7 is probably the worst Tekken there is though, so I wouldn’t use that as a deterrent.
Played a bit just now. Well, sort of. I played the Super Street Fighter II Turbo arcade, and a bit of SF6 practice mode. I jumped on one of the virtual arcade cabinets you’re meant to jump on to challenge people and/or practice, but nobody jumped on the other side to fight me, despite there being multiple lobbied, and most of them being full.
Anyway, I kind of hate that Modern controls are the default with no way to change the default to Classic. So you need to remember to flip to Classic every time you choose a character. The move canceling feature is great. Lets you extend the hell out of combos. Chun Li in particular seems like she’s gonna be a monster in experienced hands. Kimberly and Jamie are fun too, great new additions. Didn’t like Luke. Ken feels good, Ryu a bit more stiff, as usual for that pair. Didn’t try Guile or Juri.
But game feels good.

The UI is pretty gash but you can do this; change it for one character and then press Y (I think) to set it as default for all. Edit: also tekken 4 is clearly the worst of the “modern” tekkens  |

The newcomers look excellent. And DeeJay can now fake his moves..? Madness. If I have one nitpick it is that Street Fighter continues to use just two languages: Japanese and English. I wish they’d do voice tracks in native tongues - so Sim might speak Hindi, and Manon speaks French, Chun speaks Mandarin, etc. They do it in Tekken (I think) and I’ve always liked that. But anyway - I expect we’ll see the last bunch of characters (Cammy, Gief, Lily??) revealed during Capcom Cup, which is over valentines weekend. So only two more weeks! And fingers crossed we will get an open beta with more characters..! |

Blonks was always my main but I really didn’t like him in V so dropped him entirely. He looks really good in this one, so pumped for that. I’m not the best player so I figure I should be as annoying as possible.

My brother managed some shared console jiggery pokery which enabled us to play the beta at Christmas.
It's a LOT of fun. Going back to 5 was painful.

Yeah I don’t think there’s ANY precedent. It’s going to make the next Capcom cup extremely interesting. I suspect this is a “first year only” deal but Christ what a pot.
To put this in perspective: last years SFV Evo winner, Kawano, took home just over $5500.

Gief and Cammy both look brilliant. Excellent update to their designs. Gief especially looks terrifying.
Don't care much for Lily's design (reminds me of Eagle tbqh) but you can't win them all I suppose.

I was just about to post the same video and repeat the same comments. Gief and Cammy look brilliant, but not feeling Lilly, there's always going to be that kind of kawaii character in all Japanese fighting games, you can't escape them. Lucky Chloe, almost every young girl in DoA, etc.
