Yeah PS5 controller for this is just bad bad bad. Analogue stick too sensitive and dpad too stiff. I'm glad others say the same because I thought it was just me and would explain why I struggled so much with DNF Duel when it came out.

I've just learned that there is a practice mode hidden in the demo. Apparently you can access it through choosing the mode to learn Ryu's moves and choose the level 3 super at the bottom which is shin shoryuken and you can practice through there.

I thought the dpad was fine personally, but I'll be using my Arcade stick once the full game arrives anyway. |

It’s in no small part just getting used to it. I either play on my old madkatz stick or a 360 pad on the PC. I’ve got a *lot* of injustice 1/2 hours logged on an indestructible old wired pad that must be coming up for 15 years old.
It’s no wonder the PS5 one feels firm in comparison.

I tried. They made looking around work without a right stick (think it is hold down the button mapped to R1 and then the face buttons). But, there is a point where it asked me to press down on the d-pad and I couldn't proceed without switching to the controller.

Anyone tried CPU level 8 difficulty on versus mode? Holy shit I don't think it dropped a fucking combo as it handed my ass to me. Managed to regularly beat CPU level 7 now in a comfortable way, you definitely have rewrite your brain in figuring out all the things you can do now, I feel less restricted than I did in 5. Also it feels great to play a Ryu that isn't dogshit anymore, I can't even imagine how much I'll have to prepare for when all the characters are available to me, but I think I'm looking at Marissa for my main unless Ken really is as fun as everyone says.

I gave the demo a quick try on my GTX 1650 laptop. It runs pretty well on 1080p Low, or even 1080p Normal with a small hit to internal resolution (looks like around 810p to me). Only, my mere 4GB of VRAM is clearly struggling to keep up. Some textures look terrible and stay that way for a long time.  Still, I suppose it's pretty impressive that it runs this well at all. |

I've been playing Street Fighter (badly) since the SNES.
Never really learnt all the mechanics of SFV, I just bought it for the nostalgia, it has a great soundtrack and all your favourite stages and characters are in it.
Gave the demo of SFVI a go and, I am really loving this one. Everything just flows much better, this is much more accessible for sure. I've been playing with classic controls because modern just plays its self. Thoroughly impressed with everything about it.
Using my 8bitdo Xbox Ultimate controller which has a lovely dpad ideal for Hadoken's.
I have a feeling this could be the best selling SF game in the franchise's history.

Ohhhhh. Same characters as before which is fair. And yeah we should try to get some EG games going!
I’ve been playing the demo a ton with my son, who’s 9. He gets full advantage which means, among other things, 3x damage plus regenerating health. Along with dynamic controls it’s like fighting an SNK boss! A single punish combo can do 100% health. But we’re still both having loads of fun and man I cannot wait for the full game to come out.

Why are/were people so unhappy with SF5? I watch some tournament play but I'm not technical. There's always this undercurrent of distaste for it despite its obvious popularity. It's not my favourite fighting game (KOF) but I like SF. I know it was poor early on but I thought that was just the single player side which I wouldn't expect competitive players to care about
I was watching the various Evo Japan finals and that sense was still there

It’s in a decent place now but it sucked when it came out and took longer than it should to right the ship. It lost a lot of people in those first few years (myself included) and it was a struggle to get back into it.

The DF video is quite interesting. The performance/resolution toggle seems like it’s just for career mode which makes sense as I thought that was as choppy as fuck when I played the demo.
I dunno if it’s bugged but the Series S version is really ugly. Like it looks a lot worse than the PS5 version even at 1080p. It feels like textures aren’t loading properly or something. And I can’t hit diagonals on the pad at all for some reason, which doesn’t seem to be an issue on other games. PS5 it is, I think.

Yeah I was surprised that the series is a mirror for the base PS4 version which is super odd when you consider how RE Engine has worked on the Series S before in other games. I think a lot of it is to do with Ono being fired. Sure he made fighting games relevant again with SF4 but the fighting game content just got worse as worse in Capcom.
