The Elden Ring thread had me thinking of improving my headphone gaming, till now I've used my Sennheiser RS170 plugged in to my receiver. They're ok but falling apart and are of course, not compatible with the PS5 3D Audio, to get 3D Audio I've plugged my Bose QC35 in to the controller using a cable but would prefer a better solution.
So, we have the Sony Pulse Headset, seems to work perfectly but I've read complaints of pishy battery life, lack of comfort and cheap build quality.
The Arctis 7P+ sound better in terms of build and sound quality but of course don't have the perfect PS5 integration. I'm clueless about other options.
So, what do people recommend? PS5 3D Audio support is essential, would be good to support the Xbox and Switch as well.

Pulse 3D are super comfortable IMO, but the sound quality is only average. On the other hand, prior to these, I had/have the PS4 Platinum headset, which has far superior sound but is extremely uncomfortable. Given a choice, I'd go Pulse because I can wear them for extended periods of time without issue, but don't expect them to be upgrades from your Sennheisers.

Cheers, the-re cheap enough to take a punt on. Pity they don't have a more "premium" version.

I've had a pair of Arctis 7x for a year now. Work flawless on both XSX and PS5. I'm sure there are better sounding headsets out there but this does the job solidly. 3D audio works great on them. Battery life and comfort are top notch. I did have to tune the sound to my liking using the PC app.Dongle might be a bit big if you plan on doing loads of switch gaming.

Main thing that puts me off them is the lack of ps5 integration reported here: www.inputmag.com/reviews/steelseries-arctis-7p-review-so-close-perfect-ps5-gaming-headphonesThe PS5 defaults to route all audio to the dongle even if your headset is off. Your choices as a user are either to disable auto-output switching in your settings, or unplug your dongle every time you stop using your headset. Either way, you’ll be doing some kind of extra manual action to switch the system over to the headphones.

After fannying about with the PS5 tonight I realise that changing audio output with the menu is a non-issue so the 7P+ would be fine. Although the main improvement over my Bose would be no cable to the controller and a proper mic if I ever game online more so maybe not worth it for only purely convenience. Hmm.

Astro A50 is the best wireless headset I’ve tried but, honestly, if they died I would be fine with the Phillips Fidelio X2 I just plug into the pad when I forget to charge the astros.

I've got BeoPlay Portals. They are pretty fantastic for XSX. PS5 they are currently not wireless as the PS5 doesn't support Bluetooth audio accessories yet.
The design of them is a big plus for me. I find other headphones even expensive ones irritate my ears making them sweaty and itchy with the pads. Also expensive headsets are usually quite heavy and another problem I often face is the extension of the headband. I've got a massive head and often they don't fit all the way across. These fit fine with room left. Also they are so light and comfortable I almost forget I'm wearing them, which is great for me because I watch a lot of movies and TV with them, late at night.

I can confirm for anyone on pc n Xbox the official wireless ones are great. Superb bass and eq setting to fine tune. Very comfortable, sound cancelling and they feel very premium. Doubt there's many better in this price range.
