Wtf?! You've been playing with only your pawn?! You mad lad! Nah, I mean you can have your pawn AND two others! That's what I meant!

I've just spent at least 20 minutes trying to thwart an assassination. You only have so much time in which to identify the would-be culprit and apprehend him, and I kept arresting innocent civilians by mistake (while the target kept dying). Cough, go to the morgue and use a wake stone, cough.

Jambowayoh I did it the stupid way, and reloaded at least a dozen times until I collared the right guy!

Noting Jambo's point for future reference!
I spent 3 hours arsing about. Found some cool stuff in caves with weird oily versions of the water blobs.
Killed some minotaur/ogres. Fended a dragon away from merve, met mystic spear bloke, explored another cave system round to the starting encampment and generally dicked around achieving a tiny bit, but still having fun. Just like the original game.
Still one more level until full archery - ness, i thought it was closer, but nope.
Then a Vocation change is in order.

Just done my first minotaur. Christ, that was more pant shitting and exhilarating as the last fight, about 8 minutes ago!
Bravo capcom. For managing to not only bottle insane chaos and fun, but even upped the ante with this one!

Maybe he hired one additional pawn, but not a second. Yeah, this.

I've started playing DD1 on my laptop as I'm away from my PS5 for a while. Obviously it's similar, but man you die quickly in 1! And one charge of lantern oil seems to last about 60 seconds, whereas I don't think I've ever run out in 2 yet. Bit annoying.

I keep trying to play it like the new one, and it’s definitely a harder game, at least earlier on. In the everfall. Lost as usual.

The new one is really quite easy compared to the first. After a while the only time you really die is from dragons as it always seems to want you to fight them on really uneven ground that you get hitched on trying to run from their aoe

Actually fuck this, I'm continually getting my arse handed to me in the Everfall with no checkpoints, and no obvious other quests to do instead.

Everfall is a bit of a twat tbh. Ogre by any chance?

The only thing I'm finding hard about this one is not launching my controller through the TV dealing with the stamina bar while running around in the wild. Absolutely no need to be bastards about that outside of combat.

Everfall is a bit of a twat tbh. Ogre by any chance? I managed to skirt the ogre (or was it a cyclops) by using the lever and gates. Then got to a dark, open area on two levels with some harpies and shit launching fire at me. Think I need higher level pawns, where do I go in Gran Soren to hire them?

Still got wode. I really like him. Haha good old vyrt! I've upgraded some of his stuff last night so if you hire him again he'll look even more mental

Pawn guild is the most convenient. Easiest way is to use the eternal ferrystone and just select gran soren. It'll dump you right outside the guild

The eternal ferrystone is only available in the dark arisen version. If you have that version, check your storage at the main Inn at gran soren

It is pretty frustrating, although I seem to remember DD1 being far worse in this regard - I don't believe I gave my Arisen chronic emphysema during character creation, but apparently I did, as he couldn't run for more than a few paces without getting out of breath!
DD2 is better on this front, but the always-on stamina bar is still annoying.

It turns off in cities which is somehow even worse because they could have just left it like that!

I can’t remember what to do at the bottom of the everfall. I picked up the portstone and mooched about but is there something to interact with?
