Despite the fact that a real one would be an utterly horrific chainsaw massacre of a weapon, they don’t want the Jedi to look anything other than elegant, from a more civilised age etc. and they sell plastic light sabers to kids don’t forget. they don’t sell fences. |

Yeah, I just saw some sort of rumour intimating that Jar Jar is the final boss in this series. I doubt it.

Did a little dive on it. Apparently, Binks was originally meant to be an agent of Palpatine, which would have been revealed in episode 2, however, the character was so disliked that Lucas trashed the idea and replaced him with Count Dooku. To further muddy the water, a reddit user posted a theory that proved quite popular. It would make his irritating antics in Ep 1 much more palatable if he turned out to be pure evil. |

I quite like some of the Jar Jar fan theories/ideas, I wonder if they’ll ever do anything with him in a series. I’ve not seen enough of the clone wars to know if he has a role in that.

In some of the novels, Jar Jar is washed up, ostracised and hated for his role in the creation of the Empire by the sequel trilogy. He still has his boundless enthusiasm and naivety. It would have been far better had Lucas stuck with the vision of him being a minion of Palpatine.

I really enjoyed this weeks episode after watching it last night. Again, I can recognise the complaints, but that stuff is just washing over me. The coat thing actually I took to be one of those "so brazen it actually worked" type things, driven by the fact they had no choice.

Wait until next week’s episode where Obi Wan finally communes with Qui Gon and we see Liam Neeson’s force ghost turn up in cargo shorts, supping on a Budweiser, yelling, “Whaaaaasssssuuuupppp!!!!!!!”, as Duel of the Fates is performed by the Smashing Pumpkins.

I’m living with a big Star Wars fan and he was tortured by that latest episode, how bad it was. I’m able to enjoy it because I regard all non-OT Star Wars as almost equally terrible.

It's a bit grim....but wouldn't those stormtroopers have still been struggling/drowning when they looked back in through the doors that has just closed? Or maybe the force of the water knocked them out? Also, the base wasn't better defended cos nobody would be foolish enough to attack it?! Brilliant!! Also, I let him go so I could track him and have him stood in front of me again?  All things considered, I'm still enjoying it =) |

I’ve watched the first few episodes and I don’t know if this changes but every scrap of tension is deflated by, y’know, A New Hope existing.
It’s like watching one of those time travel shows where the guy knows he exists in the future so keeps doing crazy things like putting a gun to his or running into traffic.
