It has a better box office than afterlife too, it just somehow cost a lot more.

It definitely was better than GB2. Didn't see Afterlife so no comparison there, but GB2 was a disappointment. Not terrible, but very much a rehash. Like Iron Man 2.

I hope so. The Star Wars universe is so big with such potential for new stories and all they’ve been interested in for years are filling in the margins around one story on one small planet that was supposed to be an insignificant backwater.
I know he ended up there but part of the reason Mandalorian was so good was because it was an original story unconnected from the Skywalker story.

I thought that Ghostbusters was fine. Not amazing, but not terrible.
The amount of hate it got was way out of proportion to its flaws, and also started long before any of the haters actually saw it.
Weirdly, Afterlife got mixed reviews, but didn't seem to generate any particular hate even from those who disliked it.
Same thing happened to Ocean's 8. Oddly, Ocean's 12 didn't generate any hate at all, despite being eye gougingly awful.
It's almost as if a lot of the vocal haters were reacting against something other than the quality of the movie itself.

The world of nerds has taken a weird turn since I was a young ‘un. We all liked and disliked different things, but arguments were never more than John Byrne great artist or not, who would win in a fight between the Hulk and Superman, Star Wars or Star Trek etc. Then the masses came to it. And with them, the arseholes. The shit that they stir up, often, as others have said, without the benefit of experiencing the actual product first, to air their prejudices makes it not worth the investment half the time.

It is telling that the original movies can tell a complete story with memorable characters and world building in 2 hrs but these series, especially Obi Wan, feels like they still have to condense and rush things along even with a longer runtime
