I finally watched the Clerks 3 trailer and I’m into it After so much sci-fi and so many MCU blockbusters I think I’m ready for some low key heartfelt nostalgia In the mood for something talkie in general actually, a Clerks, Singles, maybe an Empire Records at a push but its a bit more uptempo. Open for recommendations if you’ve got ‘em. Ideally on Netflix or D+ High Fidelity imo.

I definitely into it. Clerks II wasn't bad at all imo. I partook in a Q&A with Brian O'Halloran at a comic con a few years back where he was less than sure III would happen, as Jeff Anderson couldn't be convinced. Amazing what can happen when you need cash. He was also a grumpy egotist but turned the charm on when the mic was on. I think Jeff has, largely, seen it as just a thing he did with a friend when he was younger. Fairly sure he has a business in Jersey. Brian seems like the dickhead in the group who is annoyed he never quite made it into "real" films. He should also play Roman in the GTA IV film.

Got around to watching Clerks III. There were parts of it I really enjoyed, there were parts of it that did nothing for me, and there were parts where I wanted to reach through the screen and give Brian O'Halloran a hug because his performance was just devastating. I had speculated that there might be some attention called to Rosario Dawson playing Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian, but since that didn't happen for reasons*, the fact that Randall spent a good portion of a scene describing the plot of The Mandalorian to Amy Sedaris' doctor character was just as meta given that she's in it as Tatooine Mechanic Lady. I didn't really enjoy the way they handled Elias this time. I suppose the constant costume changes did distract from the fact that Trevor Fehrman somehow now looks as old as Anderson and O'Halloran.
*Becky getting fridged for the advancement of Dante's arc not only does a disservice to the character, but also manages to rob Clerks II of its feel good factor happy ending. How am I supposed to watch that now without knowing she dies literally five minutes after the credits rolled?

What Kevin has been up to recently and it's a bit different than usual. I wish him all the best and I recognise some aspects of his experience myself. Stick around to the end for a humorous comparison from someone he met.

This bump reminded me that I hadn't seen III. Only to discover it's on Prime. That's tomorrow morning sorted.

See, I even love II. So from what I've read, I'll be quite happy. Was waiting for it to hit streaming, as well as the right time. Goodness knows how long it's been up.

If you have a lot of love for Clerks and feelings about ageing and friendship I think there’s a lot to get out if Clerks 3. Its a top half of the league table KS film for me.
I’m not sure what it would offer someone who isn’t already in with the series but then I have no objectivity about the film because the friend who introduced me to Mallrats at secondary school died of a heart attack two weeks before I saw it so I was a mess when I had it on.

Yeah I thought the same about Clerks III. As a straight forward comedy for the unitiated it's not very good at all I'd argue.
But if you're a fan of these characters, and it catches you in the right mood, it's a bit of an emotional rollercoaster.
