Heard Flat Beat on the radio and had to put on the best, least commercial follow up to a smash hit ever

Meli (II) by Bicep. They're the best thing since Orbital and Orbital were the best thing ever.

ENNY, I think she's underrated.

I'm still working my way through glastonbury stuff.
Billie Eilish's headline set was pretty ace. Olivia Rodrigo rather won me over after not being a huge fan before. Skunk Anansie appear to be exactly the same as when I saw them 20 years ago.
Still dozens of artists I want to catch up on. I'd have loved to have been there.

The Andy C remix of firestarter popped up in my new release feed earlier, which was alright I guess.
That's got me in the mood for some classic Prodge, so 'Music for the Jilted Generation' from the start. LOUD.

I know they got out of the 'rave' scene quite abruptly because of how stale it had got but their first two albums are easily two of my favourite records of all time. I just couldnt get on board with the 'electronic sex pistols' vibe after that, it felt a bit forced and, at certain points, quite lame. I do/did feel a bit sad at how hard I dropped off them because Experience and Jilted Generation are easily 10/10s.

The only new to me act I came across was Girl In Red, but she puts on a hell of a show.

Found out that Bicep played Glastonbury thus year so that. I had in person revelation when I accidentally saw Orbital there in the 90s and Bicep are this generation's Orbital but better. It's fucking amazing.

Rage Against the Machine - Evil Empire
I hadn't listened to Rage in ages, but they were in the news today - first show in a decade or thereabouts, and they took a pop at the Supreme Court while they were at it - and I have to say, it holds up.

I got back into Rage during the lockdown. Still great, and unfortunately probably more relevant than ever.
I don't know why (other than a couple of cool colaborations recently) but I've been listening to a lot of Chvrches recently. It's a band I'd been vaguely aware of over the years, but never listened to that much. Their songs can be a little samey at times, but good fun. (They also seem to have done several video game songs, such as Mirror's Edge or Death Stranding).
Stuck in my head:

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
They've just announced a short reunion tour, 20 years after calling it quits.

Their last album screen violence is probably the best stuff they've done, especially their collab with Robert Smith.

Yeah, that robert smith one was the one that got me into them.
They're pretty good to work to as well.
