I personally like the suggestion that Sony buy Bungie and get them to make a game called "Ring world" where you play as Captain Overlord.
That would really kick MS in the balls.

They havent bought a games company, they have bought a live services company. They were never going to buy sega or anyone else.

Oh no, now Sony will need to make even more brilliant games that you can’t get on Xbox.

They havent bought a games company, they have bought a live services company. They were never going to buy sega or anyone else. I mean, they bought Bethesda, which are unarguably a games company primarily. They bought Obsidian who are unarguably a games company. And so on. So "they were never going to buy anyone else" rings a bit hollow. Because MS does buy game companies. It's absolutely true that Acti-Blizzard are primarily focused on live service games, and have been for what, decades? At least a decade. We all know they got bought because they were vulnerable and had poor leverage in negotiations, but have extremely valuable IP, and further, MS can "rehabilitate" them, and people who have forsworn their games can say "Oh well now Blizzard are owned by MS I can come back!". So it's true in a sense - Sega isn't currently undervalued and lacking leverage in negotiations, so MS wouldn't rush to buy them. But I don't doubt that if they were, MS wouldn't have at least strongly considered buying them. I guess you're "technically correct, the best kind of correct" though!

All I want is for MS to sell back all the gaming franchises from RARE to Nintendo. Please. I think the best you're going to get is a few of their games on an N64 Mini one day. Rare as a work horse studio were more valuable than their IP anyway and that's never coming back.

Then they bought a live services company and nobody but their accountants gave a shit.

Then they bought a live services company and nobody but their accountants gave a shit. True. It's not like MS money will make Activision or Blizzard games better or more ambitious, so it's no real change from our perspective.

Depends if you like waiting 3 years between games. Then getting Mario. Not if you keep replaying Mario to enjoy the magic!

Much like any large gaming acquisitions, the big name titles eventually fade away and lose their shine. When Playstation users come to terms with not being able to play the next Elder Scrolls or Call of Duty, or Overwatch, they'll move on to something else. Other developers will grow to fill that void over time and new, sought after series will take their places. As a Switch user primarily, I've played very little made by the biggest western 3rd party publishers and I've never really felt like I was missing much. Depends on your tastes, the clear majority of the games I like are Japanese, a lot of the Western AAA stuff leaves me cold. However, being only on Switch you still miss out on the likes of the From Software games, Capcom stuff like Resident Evil, FF7 Remake, the Ryu Ga Gotoku stuff from Sega, JRPGs like Persona 5, great Playstation exclusives such as Ghost of Tsushima, Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Death Stranding, Nioh, Spiderman etc. It's not just Call of Duty and Halol you miss out on, "Missing out on" is a meaningless statement though. If you're enjoying yourself playing a video game, you're enjoying playing video games. You don't need to play all the cool kid games to be A Gamer. Those are all just a list of games you like, which is fine. You can get DS and all RE games up to 6 + Rev1 and 2 on Switch anyway and you didn't even like FF7 remake!

The sentiment stands though. I too thought Resi 7 was a bit of a dud. I did enjoy Resi 2 remake though. That was excellent.

How can you tell someone they're missing out on games you don't like?

Hold on, the recent RE games are RE2 remake, RE3 remake, RE7 and RE8. Of these, isn't only an inferior cloud based 720p version of RE7 at 5x the price of other platforms?

I've been getting into too many silly arguments recently. I think I need a break or a a wank or something and to remember that all this is meaningless and we're all going to die anyway. But in the meantime it's OK to just play whatever you feel like and not care what other people are doing or playing

I suspect your problem is that you're missing out on amazing games and it's making you irritable. I think if you're genuinely enjoying playing a game, whatever else is out there really doesn't matter. If you're worried about what other games are out or your backlog, you either don't actually enjoy playing games themselves or you aren't enjoying it that much. Rushing through something you're having fun to play something else you might have fun with is a bit weird really. I'm playing NSMB U - if I feel like playing a game, I'll play that and enjoy myself. I couldn't care less about Resident Evil right now
I'm pretty sure I'm irritable because I haven't had a wank recently
edit: For the sake of avoiding this going on longer than it needs to, that's really just my philosophy with playing games. It's fine if you enjoy playing lots of different games and discussing them, etc. I don't actually care and I'm annoying myself getting drawn into these things
Right. Wank

I feel like there's an obvious solution just within your grasp. As it were... Just reading someone suggesting that Sony should just buy Ubisoft and Take2 and have done with it.

I don't keep whinging in threads about how I'm not enjoying games though innit Eh? When you try a game, sometimes you like it, sometimes you love it, sometimes it doesn't click or is a disappointment. Expressing opinions positive, negative and meh is normal for gaming geeks.
