Sounds like the EU had similar issues with the deal around cloud gaming that the CMA had as well, so Microsoft gave some concessions on that front. Doesn't sound like this agreement will be sufficient for the CMA though, judging by those tweets.

Not sure what this will lead to but the government aren't impressed with the CMA.
Get the feeling the CMA are going to be forced to back down and agree to MS remedies that got it passed in the EU.

Yeah it's odd.
I think not being able to answer the questions about the meeting with the FTC hurt them as well.
But it's basically a do the job but not if it's going to cost us loads of money.

The thing is, who cares if China's authority approves it. They will continue to severely limit what Microsoft can sell there anyway.
Quite funny that UK gov wants UK regulators to fall in line with foreign ones. So much for sovereignty to do your own thing.
