They've signed more 10 year agreements this time with Ubitus and Boosteroid. I'll finally get to use the PC portion of my Ultimate sub.

It's not helping Sony's argument when everyone else is signing up to it. Just need to end now.

How can they sign people up to something they don't own yet?

It's a commitment which kills Sony's and the regulators claims/concerns that MS will just pull everything and make it exclusive as soon as the deal is done.

Oh yes, the well-known Ubitus and Boosteroid. What are they doing, releasing Call of Duty on haemorrhoid suppositories?

Fairly well known apparently. According to the bumf Boosteroid is the largest independent streaming platform in the world with over 4 million users, and Ubitus were used to stream Control to Nintendo Switch.

I've never heard of them. I thought the only ones were Xbox, Nvidias thing and Google's effort that they just flushed undercooked.

Sony trying to claim that games on GamePass are basically exclusive now?

Sony are just talking bollocks with this stuff.
But if the deal falls through Acti-Blizz will have a lot of material to make Sony pay through the nose for any kind of content exclusivity deals going forward.

After the last one i doubt IOI will want another company owning them any time soon.
Plus they seem to be doing really well by themselves.

Will be interesting to see how long it takes for Microsoft to be seen as the new EA, although I wonder how many people flag-waving for Microsoft are old enough to remember when EA were buying up every beloved studio and destroying it.

Actually surprised the EA graveyard meme hasn't been used in a while. Did read more key members/founders of Criterion Games recently left.

They still had some? I thought they all left and made The Room for the rest of their lives. Or something.
EA haven’t bought anything for ages so far as I know, and I don’t think they make anything at all that’s hugely successful any more. Dragon Age 3 was mine years ago. It seems like every battlefield game has been a shitshow for that long. There’s probably one sports game that props up the whole company I expect. I honestly don’t remember what else they make.

Sims DLC and selling FIFA/Madden/NHL ultimate team crap are where EA make their money now I think. That Dead Space remake seemed to do well enough though. Edit, forgot Apex, that makes a fair bit.

Plus they bought Codemasters - so they have every mainstream racing game that isn't Forza or Gran Turismo.

Jedi Fallen Order did quite well I think. It did. In spite of the lead character's movement resembling a fucking chimpanzee.

I just remember when Diablo 3 was a total shitshow because of Activision’s great ideas about always-online, now potentially teaming up with the other great Always-Online proponents of the era.

Always online was far from diablo 3's biggest issue. Lack of content however..

Yeah, there was fuck all to do at launch, other than playing the story again and hoping you got enough half decent loot to sell, so you could buy something actually useful in the auction house. Always online was absolutely fine after the launch woes were out of the way imo. It was the shit loot with no endgame that people hated.

It wasn't the always online stuff that bothered me all that much, it was the item market and the complete lack of legendary drops.
What dfunked said.
