Couldn't see a thread for this, apols if I've missed it, etc.
But my new (old) Switch will not detect any wifi networks at all - not my router, not a hotspot off my phone, not my friend's router. There are some threads on this that all seem to cumulate in "send it back to Nintendo," which I'll inevitably be doing as it seems to be a hardware problem, but I wondered if anyone has any recent UK experience of dealing with Nintendo repairs? It was a Christmas present for the kids and they'll be gutted to be without it for weeks on end.

Probably an obvious question, but have you tried doing a hard restart? Or maybe wipe the Switch completely (after backing up saves)?

If you only bought it in December, then can't you take it back to the shop and ask for a replacement?

Tried a hard reset - nada.
I bought it from a store on eBay so I'll see if they'll take it back.

Probably the antenna is broken or disconnected. IDK how that’s made in the Switch, might be an easy fix but probably not worth it if you can send it back.

I haven't even attempted to plug it in, there's a vast gulf between the router and the TV

Update: sent it to Nintendo just over a week ago. They were arsey about whether the proof of purchase (a VAT invoice) was valid, but they finally caved and will repair it.
