Any genre, any mood.
What are your favourite tracks that aren't the biggest or most well known?
I could pick from quite a few Deftones tracks but this is the one that gave me the idea for the thread. Not my favourite album of theirs but this song pops into my head and totally encapsulates the atmosphere and texture that makes them awesome.

The New Pornographers - The Bleeding Heart Show
Just a really uplifting song that crescendos in a way I always enjoy

Waltari: The album is called "Yeah! Yeah! Die! Die! Death Metal Symphony in Deep C", but ironically the song below is probably the least classical and the least metally song on the whole album.

God I'm old. I didn't even know what a deep cut was.

The Prodigy - Scienide. It's a b side to Poison, and I love the riff at 2.34 youtu.be/f-dEawPn5a4The Damned - I Think I'm Wonderful. Think it was a b-side originally, but it's been on reissues of their Strawberries album. youtu.be/-UKSrbVPH1cChrome Hoof - Ultimate Sealed Unit. It's band who deserve to be known more, as their combination of funk, prog and metal is quite unlike anything else I've heard. The track I wanted to share is so recherché thatI can't even find it on YouTube, so here is something from the same album youtu.be/TBRPJQxyov8

Always enjoyed this Massive Attack track. End theme to Danny the Dog, and hasn't had an album release.

Everyone knows Sing It Back or Time Is Now by Moloko, but this is their best work by far

drhickman1983Love some of the Prodigy's B sides. The Trick is still in my regular playlist. Used to have all of their singles at one point and put together a CD of all of them. Ah, simpler times...

Also a deep cut - from the album that includes Bohemian Rhapsody and other classics but I never hear people talking about this one
The tape loop stuff in the middle of this song blew my mind as a kid

Radiohead - Talk Show Host. Never on an album, but what a track.
Also honourable mentions to the three bonus tracks on the special edition of Taylor Swift’s 1989 album; New Romantics, Wonderland and You Are In Love. All are brilliant yet somehow didn’t make the final cut.

Talking of Radiohead their live version of True Love Waits on their "I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings" album is one of my favourites of theirs, much better than the version that ended up on A Moon Shaped Pool

Goes from being a creepy, claustrophobic glitchfest of a track on Amnesiac to a beautiful piano piece. I love them both for different reasons.

There's a studio version of the piano LSP on the Kid A Amnesiac bonus disc. It's wonderful.

Bruce Springsteen - Racing In The Street
Off of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, a beautiful story driven song about a street racer who spends his nights gambling against other racers. He wins his girlfriend off another racer, like so many songs about racing before, but she spends her nights waiting for him, not wanting him to go out and race. It's an oddly compassionate dissection of the tropes in rock music about racing culture and deals with depression with true empathy
