If the republicans are so divided, can the democrats nominate their own speaker? Absolutely. They nominated their guy 15 times and voted for him unanimously while the Republicans failed to elect McCarthy 15 times. If a few republicans get Jack of their shitty party, they could vote for (Hakeem Jeffries?) whatever the Democrats house leader is named and get him in. |

Just watching every Republican with a mouth get on TV and claim the Democrats did this. PBS NewsHour generally keeps the total fuckheads out, but this one was just saying “Matt Gaetz conspired with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to oust our speaker” I mean Jesus. McCarthy went on tv, called the democrats cunts, got voted out, immediately called them cunts again. Only thing he knew how to do, although I’m pretty sure he was at peace with losing the job well before the vote, because it was such a shitshow with that rule change he caved in to.
