Yeah it's one of Clarence Thomas' beliefs. He asserts that black excellence can only be achieved through hardship and suffering. Grade A cunt. So... every black person in that shithole country as things stand.

Can the Federal government subsidise renewables so much that it makes the fossil fuel power sectors in the 19 states economically unviable compared to renewables?
Even better the Federal government should target bordering states that are "pro-green" with these subsidies.
Don't want to cut emissions? Fine, here's a cut to your local economies.
Ok that last suggestion wouldn't fly but I'd do it cause I'm a vindictive fuck.

You forget a sizeable % thinks judgement is near, so fuck long term.
A lot of them don't just think it's near - they're actively rooting for it!
I guess that's what happens when your religion reduces life to a test one must pass before the afterlife begins.

All joking aside, this is basically a damn dictatorship at that point, right? Fuck your votes, we'll bring the guy we want in because shut up, then fuck elections too, because he said so...

Then abolish term limits, and voila! The GOP's wettest, wildest dream.

And they can pass whatever the fuck they want at that point, too. "To prevent security issues in our glorious Republic, boarding flights heading out of the US now needs a background check" (the quiet part being "and if you voted Democrat, guess what MFer, you're staying put!"
I mean, who's going to stop them? Normal people will literally be shot down at that point and they've already bypassed any governmental checks and balances at that point...

No idea how accurate polling is in the US, but this is alarming.

Polls that far out aren’t particularly accurate, but it’s not surprising. Biden’s doing a shit job of it and Harris is so passive she might as well be invisible. 70% of Dems want him to step aside and let someone else run for 2024.

It seems like they should be building up Harris if they want her to take over in 2024

Biden shouldn't even be thinking about running again, never mind talking about it publicly. Hell, Clinton would probably be a better bet for Democrats at this stage, which is saying something!

I think De Santis has a better chance of running (and winning) than Trump does. Feels like Trump would prefer to be a kingmaker at this point, instead of king.
It's a disaster for Democrats either way.

Apparently Trump is itching to announce his 2024 candidacy, in a desperate attempt to counteract all the bad news (for him, I mean) coming out of the January 6 hearings.

Loving this photo the Beeb have got on the article about Bannon agreeing to testify publicly in the Jan 6th committee. He obviously thinks he can get up and berate them all and swing things back in Trump's favour... "Hold me, hold me And never let me go Until you've told me, told me What I want to know and then Just hold me, hold me" Make me tell you I'm in love with you"

Inflation is the big thing. It's not 100% his fault, but being President means you often get blamed for things that aren't 100% your fault.

That's what I'm curious about, obviously the whole world is fucked atm but I'm pretty clueless as to what he's doing wrong/ not doing (not defending him, I'm just uninformed), I can see Harris is invisible, have hardly read a thing about her since the election.

Biden isn’t doing anything wrong at all, his ability to govern has been scuppered by fucktards Joe Manchin and the woman whose name I can’t remember.

Susan Collins of Maine is the Republican that acted surprised when Brett Kavanagh was in favour of overturning Roe, after he apparently said to her face that he wouldn't

He’s being way too passive, he’s not putting any momentum behind things that could have legitimate impact, say, expanding the Supreme Court or making provisions to the filibuster, he’s making some really stupid PR choices (nominating anti-abortion lawyers, cozying up to Saudi Arabi), his refugee and immigrant policies might as well still be Trump making the decisions, and Manchin and Sinema are absolutely his responsibility to do something about instead of just shrugging and going “oh well, that’s the senate”
Also, while gas and inflation aren’t necessarily his direct responsibility, constantly going “my plans will fix this” and then doing close to the bare minimum isn’t a good look either.
His polls are flatlining even within the Dem party and his ineffectiveness and lack of legitimate leadership will probably make November a slaughter, meaning absolutely nothing on the rest of his agenda would get done, and at the moment he’s all but guaranteeing an R win in 2024, regardless who runs.

Who's likely to run instead? Is Pete Buttigieg likely to get anywhere?
