I know the focus is on Trump's ramblings but the "Oh WTF" (paraphrased, but it's pretty much that!) and incredulous laugh from Harris at that point is *chef's kiss*

I literally held my breath as I opened the news sites this morning, remembering the post-debate headlines from last time.
Seems I needn't have worried! Nice work, Kamala et al.
The election is by no means a done deal yet, though, as unbelievable as that seems.

He also does his stupid "arm tug" handshake where he basically seems to be trying to almost pull the other person over and off balance as a weirdo dominance thing. So it probably rattled him when she was basically literally unmoved by it.

Did anyone also notice how he pretty much threw his VP pick under the bus?

Did anyone also notice how he pretty much threw his VP pick under the bus? "I don't talk to JD Vance" or some such?

Vance must be the weirdest VP pick since Palin.

Sofa so bad with Vance, no way to couch that decision.

I think Vance is a result of them assuming the Democrat nomination would be Biden and so it didn't really matter, they just needed someone who was an arsehole.

The most likely explanation (or at least the likely main reason) is that Vance is a direct result of Peter Thiel's influence behind the scenes

At least Palin's selection inspired the 'Who's Nailin' Palin?' porn parody.
I don't see this election cycle's equivalent - 'Drop Those Pants, JD Vance!' - arousing nearly as much interest.

I do find it quite unfathomable that this election is such a close run thing, as far as the polls are concerned.
Trump and Vance just seem like people you wouldn't trust a small corner shop to manage without them setting fire to the place with such ineptitude between them but somehow could be running such a powerful country.
Truly nuts time to be alive.

Truly nuts time to be alive. A 34 times convicted felon wouldn't even get clearance to be an assistant manager at a Walmart, probably... But sure, let's hike him the nuclear football and give him the keys to a global superpower... Again! What's the worst that could happen?

Indeed, everytime I see either Trump supporters or those who are tossing up between Harris and Trump and still unsure make me wonder if the US just likes to repeatedly punch itself in the face just for the LOLs. What's odd is that they talk about the importance of the economy not realising Trump wants to impose tariffs on imported goods which would make stuff more expensive for them. Silly, silly people.

I feel like picking Palin started off the whole normalisation of crazy right wingers. Yeah, I associate her with the Tea Party days. Which somehow swelled and burst and produced the puss we have today.

What's odd is that they talk about the importance of the economy not realising Trump wants to impose tariffs on imported goods which would make stuff more expensive for them. Silly, silly people. I always think the same, but I kinda forget that a lot of it is driven by voters in some areas feeling abandoned and disenfranchised. It's all very well for Harris to say she doesn't agree with Trump's message of a US in decline, but certain areas like the rust belt definitely identify with it. www.bbc.com/news/articles/cy0nerwe8rroIt's the same underlying issue as those red/blue wall constituencies in the UK. The factories and industry have gone, and the parties that were supposed to be in the corner of those workers (Labour, Democrats) haven't brought it back or fixed it, so they turn to more populist/nationalist parties. Hence Trump and Brexit. The thing that rarely gets mentioned, maybe because it's obvious to some, is that no party is going to be able to bring back that kind of industry because the global situation has moved on. That doesn't stop people in those areas hoping that Trump/Brexit will bring back the good old days though.

Apparently JD Vance responded to Swift's endorsement as well, with
A) Is it really wise to poke the hornets' nest even more?
B) Have you met your running mate, you loungesexual weirdo?
(okay so Trump is only the concept of a billionaire, you get the point)
