That was reintroduced last season. There's some decent story content to be done there. You should have a quest available that'll progress it.
The public event is pretty fun, but might be hard to find an active one at this point.

I used to do the Leviathan raid way back in the early days of D2. Felt quite cool to be back there.

In fact it felt quite nice to be back playing in general. Every time I have a break and go back to it, I forget just how good it feels to play. Too good.

Managed to sneak into an LFG team for Kings Fall and made it to Golgoroth last night. Seemed quite easy up to that point but we ran out of time before we could try that encounter. Prior knowledge seemed to help a lot more than it did with Vault of Glass.

What's the deal with the Leviathan? Me and the boy did a mission last night where it took us on board and it was full of weird shit. I have literally no idea what's going on in Destiny again. Leviathan was vaulted a couple of seasons ago but returned in its current state last season.
Last year in season of the Chosen, there was a mission aboard a ship called the Glykon where Calus had been experimenting on Scorn in an attempt to communicate with something he believed was an entity at the center of the Darkness. It was in a similar state to the Leviathan is now and Calus had completely disappeared. Ultimately it has transpired that Calus successfully communed with the entity and we now know it as the Witness, so the seasonal story for Haunted had his Darkness-ified Leviathan attempting to fuck up the Moon, basically.
If you're curious, Caiatl is his daughter and the leader of the Cabal now, and is loosely allied with us.

I'm not clear on the Scorn nowadays. Do they answer directly to the Witness, or is there any indication that maybe a new Disciple has taken the Fanatic's place (or maybe the Fanatic himself could have been made into a Disciple)?
Since Shadowkeep, things have been changing a lot for the old races. Most of them are in civil war, and some factions are allying with us, while others are at least willing to fight our enemies. I'm not sure where that leaves the Vex though. Presumably the final expansion will focus on them, but I thought recent events made it clear they don't care much for the Traveler or the Witness. Even if they could still serve as enemies for obvious reasons, they seem like an external factor to the whole Light and Dark saga.

Managed to clear Kings Fall. Really enjoyed that. I'm going to have to start trying to do raids regularly again this season. No Touch of Malice though, waaa.

Actually gave one of my old clan mates a shout yesterday, seeing what he was up to. Found him on Bungie. Sadly the old clan I helped found is gone but I spotted a few names I recognised in a different clan, so contemplating seeing if they'll take me.
Feel a bit nervous about that though, in the sense that I'll feel more obligated to play and do stuff. Yet part of me would love to run through some stuff with some of them again.
Hmmm.

You can always just go to 'Appear Offline' when you're not in the mood to take clan invites to stuff or specifically want to run something solo. Regulars in my clan do it often and people understand. been in a few D2 clans, small and large, and I've never felt obligated to join in if I didn't want. wouldn't stay with a clan that did that tbh. Well maybe sometimes getting pressured to fill a raid team when they know you're the only free person in the roster who knows the raid (i sometimes go offline if i see it coming or make a plausible excuse, sorry got to go in 30mins to pick the kids up or whatever...)

It's the discord obligation that always catches me out with clans. Its a great tool for opting into scheduled raids and stuff, but I struggle to be arsed with it as a primary communication tool when I'm a console player.

It's probably less that I'll be harrassed and more that I'll feel like I need to join in more!

Discord is good these days because it helps cross platform chat a lot because the in game chat simply doesn't work most of the time.
Plus it helps as a hub to actually organise stuff through. There's a lot of nice little discord bots that let you set up an event for say a Raid with a date and time and then people can click a button to join up and it'll notify you ahead of time that it's starting soon, etc.
Tbh being in a clan is less useful than being in a decent discord.

Yeah I've been in clans that use the automated stuff. It's just personal preference as a console player. I don't like using it loads on my phone and I can't be arsed dragging the laptop out just to play a game on the PlayStation.
The groups that specify, "you must be active on discord X amount of time" I struggle with the most. I struggle to text my mates back at the best of times.

To be honest the only things you actually need voice chat for are like, Raids and some GM Nightfalls like Lightblade, Glassway and Scarlett Keep. Pretty much everything else is doable easily no comms as long as people have experience. Every time I do my duality run for pinnacles it's micless.

Yep, I did an LFG KF last night with 2 people off mics that were just emoting when they needed their brands claimed at totems and ran add clear/DPS on everything else. Was a bit more awkward than it could have been but perfectly doable. It's more having a regular set of people to do stuff with I miss out on.

Hah, I would have thought you don't need any comms for totems - my group just does a continuous rotation, you deposit your stacks, wait for the wizard/knight, take the grabber and go steal the buff, repeat. We don't even bother waiting for the person to be low on time

Yeah it's a pretty seamless relay race really. I like it a lot more than building the conflux or oracles in VoG as like an 'entry' encounter, flows nicely. We had a couple of first timers so just used the countdown method to avoid any unnecessary dying.
Only real bugbear with 2 no mics was on the last 2 encounters. Quite often the person who was torn was having to call out what plate the blight was over because the 1st plate holder was mute, so just delayed getting the paths up and caused a couple of silly wipes.

Do you get a lot more Xur rank exp for playing the Legendary Dares? I might have to play a few of those for the triumphs anyway.
Also, I guess a final GOA run for the collectibles. This 30th seal looks very easy, so I might as well.

I think I underestimated Legend Dares. It's not *that* hard (cleared three times with LFG groups tonight), but the four players triumph might be pretty annoying.

I've ditched Arc already. Never got on with it, playing as Titan, and it's still meh.
Never completed Statis, ball ache.
Void was fun.
Solar is where I'm at my most comfortable, and I can't die - pve, low level stuff that is.
Pirates?

I switched to warlock this season and quite enjoying arc on that, haven't really looked at specific builds but it's quite fun with constant arc buddys. Pulled my old trusty Ikelos from the vault and working through the Thunderlord catalyst.
Although having said that I haven't played since last weekend. Giving it a few weeks for the drip feed of weekly story stuff to pile up before dipping back in.
I used to love arc on my titan with endless shoulder charges thanks to skullfort. Might give it a go at some point.

Am I being incredibly thick with this Captain's Atlas? My quest keeps telling me to look at it and I have no idea where I find it!

Should be in the quests tab. Right click it (or whatever the option is on console) and you get to use the needlessly complicated seasonal currency to unlock a map.

Yes, different boss each week. It's fixed in Legend, if you go to todayindestiny.com it shows you what that week's rotation is.

Well, for good or bad I've got in touch with my former clan mates and I've been added to their current clan. Hopefully get some of these raids done. Not done one since whatever the second raid added to D2 was, with the Vex mind inside the Leviathan. They reminded me it's been 4 years since we last spoke.
Scary.
