Actually making use of Timos run has bought life into us.

Not sure that’s a foul.

We've seen a lot less given as fouls to the keeper

As much as I’d like that to be disallowed, not a foul. Just got out muscled there

1 shot all game though isn't good enough especially at home.

I think, I think, this might be have been our last chance of silverware. Need the commentary to say it another 10 times though so I can be sure.

I genuinely don't believe we'll win the league, but it's fucked me off that the commentators keep saying that's ended Spurs hopes of silverware this season. I mean it's probably correct, but until mathematically impossible I can still dream right!

Meh. Keeper does undoubtedly need to be stronger there, but I'd slightly go against the grain and suggest that there is probably a decent shout for a foul there -- based on the fact, contextually, watching the whole incident again, you can clearly see Dias' intention throughout is to impede him. Yeah, we see it every week, it's a contact sport, a physical game, etc.; but deliberate obstruction is still a thing. To my mind, at least.
Anyway, as said, think Spurs just didn't have enough up front in the end.

Diaz was fouling the keeper whole match on corners, refs/Var never gave a fuck.
On a not unrelated subject, tactical fouls on counter attacks should be an automatic yellow. How teams can be allowed to cynically stop one of the most entertaining things to watch on a football pitch is disgusting.
They did bang on about it but Werner was in behind many times only for the passer to be fouled before he could deliver.

Silva had about 4 fouls like that and got nothing. First time he got fouled and the ref gave our player a yellow.

Not many chances but I thought in terms of control Spurs looked good. They never let City set up camp on the edge of their box which normally happens. Spurs were brave in possession.

2nd half in particular there wasn’t much in it. We just really lacked that killer ball to set Werner away or at least a decent cross or two. Also quite wasteful with our set pieces. Bear in mind we were without Son, Maddison (clearly not up to match fitness yet), Biss, Sarr, Solomon still.
I’m ok with the performance tbh. A winter break is good in the long term, but maybe we were a little rusty in the first half after not playing for a couple of weeks. Last gasp defeat is tough to take, but we really needed a win anyway as going through at their place is a really tough ask.

We’re still very early in the rebuild and when key players are out we struggle, but despite that there wasn’t much in it. It’s a bummer but it was always likely we’d go out. Happy with much of the performance, the spirit of it if nothing else.

Seems you might be right about a more competitive era, none of the big teams including City have dominated matches this season like previous seasons, quite why I don't know. One thing that does occur is that the game seems less about individuals and more about the team in terms of strategy, so what has happened previously, where by and large the calculus was you spend the most and buy the best players you win has become blurred.
