I traded in some games at Cex and got some others for nothing and played them. Traded them in and repeated. I've spent £1 on games this way. Currently have Hades. Spent £20 on Google Stadia, £7.50 on Nintendo family edition subscription. I think I bought Civ 6 and Black Flag this year and if I did, that cost about £30. I would have spent £17 today to get RDR2, but it's no longer on sale, so that's not happening. That's been it. Similar to Duffman, I've just spent up. Add Assassin's Creed Odyssey on the Stadia for £9.99. So £67.50 for the year as I'm not buying anything else. Managed to play about 1000 hours of gaming with that and assume Black Flag, Hades, Odyssey and Civ 6 will give me a few hundred next year. Plus I've 4 month of Stadia free remaining. Really impressed but the Stadia. Still feels like witchcraft playing it

I signed up for the stadia founders thing but chickened out at the last minute. Still kind of fancy it but I've got enough to get on with as it is and don't really trust Google to keep it going long term.
Absolutely love streaming when it works well. I had to vacate the house for a few hours in the summer for flea treatment (the house, not me) so just set up my tablet in the garden and paired an Xbox controller and played some stuff on GFN. It really does feel like witchcraft.

Fwiw, Google have said they will support stadia for at least 10 years. This was back in 2019, so I think I'm okay to finish AC Odyssey in that time.
For me, not having a powerful console or a PC, it's ideal. I can finally okay AAA games in 4K without any pop up or Vaseline smeared over the screen. In fact, think I'll get up and have a quick game now (went to bed sick at 5, just woke up with no chance of anymore sleep). Might go to the 24 hour Tesco and do the shopping as well.

Wow this thread is eye opening.
Mine... (* = Bought for GF)
PC: AoE2 - 7 The Forest - 7 Valheim - 15 Phoenix Wright Trilogy* - 12 Paradise Killer* - 12 Mini Motorways* - 6 Bioshock DLC* - 8 Hades - 13 Resi Village - 30 Ori Will o Wisp - 8 Stellaris Bundle - 13 Rimworld - 20 Satisfactory - 18
PS4: Heavy Rain/Beyond* - 8
Total: 187 (if my maths is right)
Honestly surprised it's that high as I don't feel I've played much this year. My GF has smashed through the games I got her. Funny seeing how many little purchases creep in though.
No hardware this year. Built a new SFF PC last year, which has been awesome in living room, hence lack of new consoles and cheap PC prices. But last year's bill was much higher... Haven't played Switch all year. Have pre-ordered Steam Deck though.
Best buy: Valheim Worst buy: AoE2 or Rimworld (latter being one I was after for ages and then upon loading up I thought ugh, I don't have the time for this)

Also I cut out Humble Choice this year. Good decision as that would've almost doubled my total and it's mostly shite I stick into Steam and never play.

Heh, yeah, my steam library is pretty clearly divided into pre-humble sub model and post-humble sub model. Shame, but there you go.

I just pause HB every month because I don't want to give up on that sweet sweet classic plan, but skim through the list of games each month and keep moving closer to just cancelling it.

Spending on gaming for the year?
I'm glad you asked!
My only gaming platform in regular use is my XSX, and I have Game Pass Ultimate, so I pay each month for that.
Other than that, thanks to someone's advice last year in the old place, I started doing the MS/Bing stuff every day to build up points. I get a £5.00 Xbox voucher roughly once a month which then pays for most of the little extra bits I want, like add-ons for MS Flight Sim and so on.
I've probably paid less than £10.00 in addition over the year, just topping up when I had my £5.00 but something cost £7.99 or whatever.

I’m definitely spending less and less these days on games, mostly down to having an obscene backlog of stuff to play already and PS+ and Gamepass are covering nearly everything else.
My spend for 2021:
Xbox Series S - £99 (with trade in of my PS4)
Gamepass - £1 for 3 months and £10.99 once because I forgot to redeem my MS points in time. The rest of the year has been funded with Points and I’m set now until early April 2022.
PSPlus - zero in 2021 - I’m still using years I stacked a while ago.
Games:
Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut - £64.99 Metroid Dread - £42.85 Returnal - £39.99
… and that’s it!
Next year I’m looking at getting Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West on release, but that’s it so far.
