Evening Ratfans. As I'm sat here sitting (Listing to greatest hits radio, Friday I'm in love!) I thought I would let you all know what I have spent on gaming this year and hopefully hear from a few of you lot about how much you have spent, just to make me feel better/worse. On that Bombshell:
January Gamepass £57
February Fallout 4 season pass: Gamepass quest credit Sniper Elite III: Gamepass quest credit (not played) NFS HP: £17 (played, sold) Gamepad: £45
March Ghost Recon BP £12 (not played)
April Xbox wireless headset £90 (it is excellent)
May ME Legendary: £8 (rest with gamepass quest credit. Played for a few hours) RE 8: £49 (completed) Gamepad: £59:99 TLOU2: £15 (not played, but had already completed) AC Rogue hd: £6 (not played)
Not sure of months from now but from June until last week: CyberPunk: £23 (not played) DeathStranding: £15 (not played) Sinking City: £12 (played about 10 hours) Song of Horror: £27 (played about 4 hours) FC6 Gold ed: £30 (rest Gamepass quest credit) (completed) Lake: £0:99 (rest Gamepass quest credit) (not played) Halo Elite 2 pad: £180 20th Anniversary xbox pad: £60 Guardians of the Galaxy: £38 (not played) PSN 12 months: £32
I think that is is. So what have I learned! Gamepass quests are feckin' brilliant. Stop buying games unless I am going to start them, in fairness a good few of the above were in sales. As for the pads. Some people like trainners, I like xbox ltd pads!
Oh Yeah!

Nice idea! But I feel like if you're going to commit, we need a grand total for the year
Mine:
Game pass - not sure as I did the conversion trick, I guess £7/m ish so £84?
Jan AssCreed Oranges £11 Jackbox Trilogy £30 (I have regrets. Kids loved it then went off it in the space of a week)
Feb Xcom 2 £4.50 Fortnite Vbux £16 (I forget what this was for but it was probably to gift something to the kids)
March Division 2 Warlords DLC £7.50 (I still haven't played this)
April WRC 9 £3.19 Far Cry 4 £8.24
May Subnautica: Below Zero £25 Far Cry 5 & New Dawn bundle £17
October Hot Wheels Unleashed & Pass £54 (it was great but I'm not sure it was 54 quid great)
November Forza Horizon 5 map £1.87 Dark Souls Remastered £17.50
Total £280
Feels like about £100 of that was a bit of a waste, but I got plenty of value from the rest so I'm calling it a win overall

I shan't be doing mine it will make me feel sick, especially if I include my pc costs in it. I will happily stay in denial and say I spent about the right amount as I have no regrets.

Jeez Duff. How much do you spend on windows/polyfilla from throwing pads at them?

I started doing this a couple of months ago, but probably scrap it and start proper in a few weeks time. With lockdown and all my purchasing habits have got really bad so need to rein it in. My backlog is a bit out of control!

Literally nothing thanks to the Pigwhip Challenge. Even my new game was technically bought last year, as it was the Nintendo vouchers scheme.

Since the start of the pandemic I’ve fallen into buying a few things on release which I normally swear off so my list is probably a lot more expensive than I think.

Deathloop PS5 bundle: £535 Ghost of Tsushima: £60 Demon's Souls: £40 (shoutout to Richyroo) 6ish months of WoW sub: £66 4ish months of FFXIV sub: £60 Slay the Spire: £10 (shoutout to whoever sold me it) Hades: £20 Hollow Knight: £20 Some 40k game I never bothered playing for long: £20? Magic the Gathering online: Please don't make me look. Maybe £250 at worst.
So £850ish and then about £1100 if you take MTG into account.
My PC is on its knees and I came real close to upgrading it, but had to put the funds aside to look at emigrating out of the UK. If I get a bonus from my hellwork I'll reconsider.
Oh, I sold Sekiro for twenty quid or something so can net that off
Oh, 15ish on the Nintendo family thingy with some lovely folk on here, so ignore the Sekiro sale

I also bought 2 games on release this year which was a bit out of character. Before this year, the last 2 games I bought full price at launch were Borderlands 3 and... Borderlands 2

I dunno. Maybe a grand, maybe less. That includes a digital PS5 bundle and headset. I'm spending less as the year ends and have no regrets or other hobbies that cost money.

£600 total on the impulse buy of a Series X then an wireless headset for it and a year of Gamepass.
£100ish this year on Destiny 2 (PS5) for Witch Queen deluxe and a couple of Silver purchases but that's the next year of D2 sorted and it's the main chunk of my gaming hours.
£30 for PS Plus and £50 for another PS5 controller.
I think the only other game i bought this year is Outriders on PS5. And the PS5 upgrades for Ghost of Tsushima and Death Stranding.
Actually that's less in total than i thought, musn't use that as an excuse to spunk money on backlog fodder in the christmas sales

I traded in some games at Cex and got some others for nothing and played them. Traded them in and repeated. I've spent £1 on games this way. Currently have Hades.
Spent £20 on Google Stadia, £7.50 on Nintendo family edition subscription.
I think I bought Civ 6 and Black Flag this year and if I did, that cost about £30.
I would have spent £17 today to get RDR2, but it's no longer on sale, so that's not happening.
That's been it.

Just totted up my transaction history since the PS5 launch date on my PSN account. £1550 spent. That's actually quite disgusting. Thanks, I hate myself.

I haven't tallied my purchases, but they're probably closer to Solid's. This post PS5 launch year has been unbelievable all the PSN sales.

I started adding up my PSN purchases but stopped at around $700.
That was from Jan-April.

You think absolutely nothing of it when you're doing it at the time but adding it up like that is the poorest decision I've made since making my PSN account one-click for all purchases.

Not even sure how I'd go about tracking the costs. rarely buy much full price, but often buy shit in sales I promptly forget about.
I try not to think about it.

Literally the only new games I've bought this year have been Shadow Man Remastered (paid 6 euro thanks to that Epic coupon), Metro Exodus Enhanced (2 euro thanks to another coupon from MS), the Witch Queen preorder for 32 euro, and Echoes of the Eye for 6 euro thanks to reward points.
Other than that, I've spent a total of around 60 euro on many, many old games, all used or digital, for console or PC, too many to mention here.

In my defense, Game Pass has been very good to me this year. But it will expire in June 2022. If the Gold trick still works by then, I might just add another 3 years. If not, well... it might be time for me to go back to actually spending money on games (on sale, of course).
