I appreciate the sentiment but if you're going for "on the first day of Christmas" type run down, you shouldn't really start until the 25th.
The 12 days of Christmas as per the song run 25th Dec - 6th Jan.
And that's my preferred approach to Christmas. The run up is shit and having so much expectation on a single day leads to disappointment. and folks who declare Christmas "over" at the stroke of midnight on the 25th are wankers.
